That is an excellent idea!

How far into the series are you? I feel like I have not read one of those books in ages.

You know I was surprised at how many I own and I am still like meh whatever.

That is an excellent idea!

I've read them all so far, usually read new ones the week they're released.

I think you stopped when they started to go downhill.

I contemplate that one, but I have hope we get back fun loving Nick.

I think that is the first one that ended up being a DNF for me. I skipped it and read the following one but just to much tortured hero.

I go back and forth with that one. I did not finish Sweet Ruin. Didn't like how they were making Nix the bad guy and the couple was kind of weird if I recall. It has high stars so maybe I was just in a bad mood.

That was the beginning of the end.

Pretty sure there are more that I got busy and didn't realize new books were released and now are super behind in.

I recently realized that I've broken up w/ Midnight Breed when I saw a new one had come out and I didn't even know or care. I just couldn't get on board with the new generation. It's a great idea but the execution didn't work for me. It lost the magic of the original books.
I guess I'm odd man out on IAD. I still love it. I've liked certain books more than others but I still really like the series overall.

I gave that one up too. It's too bad because the early ones were good.

I loved them - then they just got ridiculous.

I stopped reading half was through the first of the second generation books, I hadn't a clue that anyone "came out" It sucks when a series starts as one thing and turns into something else.

I've heard the Fashionably Dead series is similar to them. I read the first book, and it was insanely ridiculous. The Prada obsession. The "Chosen One" stuff. Ugh.

I just wonder as an author do you feel your own series getting stale so that is why it feels so bizarre to me the reader?

Series that Used to enjoy but gave up on are the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton from book 9 the focus shifted away from the relationship with Jean-Claude & Richard and there wasn't much of resolution. Also to much focus on descriptions of how Anita looks and Anita always being the most powerful an also really bad editing.
I gave up on the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher because it just takes to long for the next book to come out an I discovered new authors that I like even more.
The Mercy Thompson and Southern vampire series I just lost interest in.

I also couldn't keep reading the Dorina Basarab series by Karen Chance even though I loved the Cassie Palmer books. No idea.
Yeah, Mercy got a little 'eh' but then really picked up with the last book.
