Random Theory I Had (read after finishing):
(view spoiler)[Larry. I totally thought he was going to be the murderer (he still could be? Idk about Ellie yet...). The reason why was due to the constant references to the thin line between solving crime and perpetrating it, and how so many people ask if Stevie liked committing crime or solving it, plus her own words on how the skills could technically be used both ways. When I heard Larry was a detective, I totally thought that foreshadowing was going to come to play in his character! (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ I am curious as to who exactly murdered Hayes. My suspicions are on Larry too, but I think that will be too obvious. I think each line of the second Truly Devious letter gives a clue about who is going to be murdered? Also, about the staircase riddle, I think the answer is 'case', since the word 'staircase' has 'case in it, and stair doesn't. I was kind of disappointed in Stevie's character when she started to violate other people's privacy, without any reason. Also, that romance between David and Stevie was too sudden and unnecessary. Wow I JUST FOUND THIS... I'm so sorry lol I thought it'd just pop up somewhere like in my notifications, but I realized I should probably go searching for it seeing as you already finished the novel. I'm about halfway, and even with your exam, you were way ahead of me lol, my bad. Not feelin so great about it, didn't realized it'd be so slow and... modern? shallow? I can't find the right word, but you feel me? Not really liking most of the characters, and the flashback inserts are really the only thing keeping me reading. Hoping it gets better...
