Someone removed My Heart and Other Black Holes from task 7, 53, and 70? Should I be concerned?
Each book can only be used once Rachel, except for the bonuses
They expected us to read 80 books in 2 weeks? I didn't see anywhere that we couldn't duplicate books, only that there is a limit of 4 for bonus points. Can we inquire in the Captain's group?
Nevermind I just read through the Captain's chat and they expect 70 books to be read for the first part and an additional 4 for the bonus. How is that achievable with our group missing so many members?
I just notified Fiona, and I have a list of books to add to the spreadsheet for Carolyn. The other 3 members of our team were replaced by Jan! We can do it!
I'm reading Swing Time right now and am hoping to add it to the mini, I'm just not sure if it applies to any open slots yet. Hoping for a road trip or a haiku to pop up.
By the way Jan, the book you were asking about taking place in space does count. They didnt respond to my comment but I read through and one part of an anthology counts for the challenge seems to be the trend.

4 different books need to be used for the bonus. So we really need 20 more.
I’ll update my books tonight and look through my upcoming books to see if I fit them in for bingo.

Maybe I am not explaining well. The books used for the bonus in part 2 cannot be used in part 1.

Ok, I think I see what you're saying Rachel - so the books we currently have listed under the bonus are incorrect since they were used in the main part of the mini challenge? If that's the case we need to edit the main mini challenge since the books currently listed in the bonus will be listed in two slots incorrectly. Am I understanding this right? Man this is a rough challenge, it's hard to get to those bonus points

Sorry to be MIA lately team! i Am still reading though. I'm in the middle of a move. This is a tough challenge! Hopefully we can get everything complete. Happy Wednesday!
My read
for the mini is currently in the "MC is a parent" slot. I think it could swing for road trip (technically the mom & daughter drive from the Midwest to FL).

Rachel - I am going to move Before We Were Yours to slot #12 for a book first published on the 6th of any month so I can add Swing Time to slot #3, where there is a party. Swing Time doesn't apply to any of the open slots so I figured I'd shuffle a bit to get it in there. Hope that's ok :)

Yes, I always uncheck that box that excludes the background so it gets the color of the entire cover.
I am determined to finish Swing Time so we can use it for a yellow book but I am reallllllly not digging it. It isn't the worst book I have ever read but I find it dull and plodding. Even when something is happening it doesn't feel exciting. The narrator is great but the story is lacking for me. Luckily I'm also reading The Virgin Suicides, which is a gorgeously written book, and can switch to the audio for Stars Above for something a bit more fun.

As JanEyre9 said, you have to uncheck the box.
I'll just give you an example of how wrong it can turn out if you don't.
This is obviously a white cover.
If we don't uncheck the result on tineye will look like this:

But if you uncheck the box the result is quite different:

(of course the white didn't turn out white because of the shadows... But you get the idea.)
Thanks guys. I was trying to find one for the mostly black cover task. So Sharp Objects it is (at least it is a fast read).
oh, so
is black if I uncheck & green if it is checked. I'm not sure if that will help fill a needed read for us....

TinEye uses levels and when colors are "close enough" they get lumped together. The really dark green colors are lumped in with the blacks. Which in this case actually gives a faulty reading/extraction. Still, I'm not a mod so I guess Kaylee either has to make a ruling or take it to the captains to decide.
I've put some more book in the SS. Both the normal one and the mini.
I have a book with Haiku in the title, but I'm not sure I will get to it so I haven't claimed it. I'll finish off the ones I've already claimed before claiming any more.
@KayleeI've finished "Kissing Zombies" and when I was filling in which cards it applied to there was a few already entered, not by me.
I assume those were supposed to be for Fiona's book on the row under mine. My book was marked red so you might have considered it for something on the official SS. Please double check your entry if that's the case.
Red is CR so I dont get that mixed up. I assume Fiona just put the entries in the wrong slot, but I haven’t used either book so its fine. Thanks for catching that :))

Hey guys! How is everybody? Hows reading going? Im sad this challenge is over in a couple of days :(
Things are going fine! I've put some more books in the Mini. I even managed two books I've been reading for work. I usually don't put those on GR, but I figured we could use them. Especially the one with 500+ pages. I still have a couple of books I need to put in. I'll do that as soon as I get the time.
For the end of the challenge, do we need to have the books in the SS when it closes down or do we have a grace period for filling in the SS?
We have a couple days. I’ll have it all done tonight. :)
