I've also found matches for my next 4 reads that work for Part 2.

I'm trying to see where the last 2 book from Michelle fit for the Mini-Challenge.

:D That means only 25 books left to complete the mini challenge :D

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments Ice Twins from Team Carina might match No Place Like Home.

One has twins, the other has triplets and they both have a Sara/Sarah character. ???

Ashley Karczewski (ashleylorna) | 152 comments Heyy Team Jupiter! I'm Ashley from Team Tucana and I read Ryan's Bed by Tijan from your list of recommendations. I have always enjoyed books written by Tijan and this book was no different. It's actually got me to go back and re-read some of Tijans other work. After reading the plot for Ryans Bed I expected to be an emotional wreck throughout but it was the last page that really got to me as I really wasn't expecting that! It left me wondering where the character would go from there. So thank you for the recommendation! And good luck on the challenge :-).

We can finish the mini - I know we can! I'll be finished my slotted book today and will start a new one. I'll try to find some short books to read.

I'll be traveling for work next Monday to Wednesday so I'll be able to read on the plane for a couple of hours to and from. I should get another 2-3 books finished. I'll be back online on the 1st to finalize our spreadsheet so if everyone can just check and make sure all of their books are on the spreadsheet correctly that would be helpful. Mostly just make sure all the books you read are on the spreadsheet and on your Uno shelf. :)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I'll be finishing up my audiobook for part 1 this weekend. I've got another book for the mini I'll likely finish today or tomorrow and then I'll have the weekend to read. I have a feeling I can finish 4 books between now and the 28th.

I found a place for [book:Field-Tripped|36128060] but I'm having trouble finding a place for A Good Year. I don't really know anything about the book so all I have to go with is the cover. Anyone see someplace?

I updated the others. If anyone sees something it can be matched with that would be great. I know some of the books I've read fit multiple places so they can move around.

Melissa | 1347 comments Thanks for checking Elena :)
I don't know if the same country is a good enough connection tho- the mods did say the USA setting wasn't enough it had to be the same state or town so I'm not sure if France would work. Paris would but they both don't take place in Paris :(

I did find a connection I think will work tho.

Melissa | 1347 comments I moved some stuff around but I've got all the books in spots :)

Is anyone currently reading something they are positive they will finish before the end of the month? I want to pick my next book but want to make sure I can use it in an open spot.

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments I will finish Riptide which will work for Team Venus and Bad Apple which will work for Eris. Possible one more...

message 335: by Melissa (last edited Feb 22, 2018 08:14AM) (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments ok great. I'm working on Rapture in Death which will work for Team Triangulum and Summerlost which will work for Team Tucana.

I possibly will be able to finish 1 or 2 more depending.

message 336: by Elena (new)

Elena | 419 comments I have two books going right now - one for Mercury and another would work for Tucana but it's already been filled so not sure what else yet.

I should be good for 1 or 2 more books as well.

message 337: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I had a third book picked out to read with a girl on the cover with her arms out. It matched one of the teams but my phone won't load the recommendations in the form they are in. The images for the teams are too big I think. I think it fit two places so if I do get to it I think it will fit somewhere.

Jessamine Lee (jessaminelee) | 322 comments I'll finish Keep Her Safe by K.A. Tucker sometime in the next few days. It could fit Team Carina (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe) - they both take place in Texas.

I'm also planning on reading Turtles All the Way Down or Otherworld, both were recommended by Team Grus or Turtles All the Way Down could also fit Team Eris - they were both written by John Green

Elena - what is the second book that would have worked for Tucana? If we can't find another place I'll see if I can move stuff around.

Elena | 419 comments Melissa wrote: "Elena - what is the second book that would have worked for Tucana? If we can't find another place I'll see if I can move stuff around."

Melissa, I'm reading Foundation which I think can be a match for Ender's Game from team Tucana -
both are military space operas written by Hugo Award winning authors and in both books characters must protect their home planets from being attacked and destroyed.
There's likely more matches for it I just haven't looked yet.

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments Not sure if you can find a place for this or not, but I just finished this one. I didn't have any luck when I looked except for Milky Way and it's full.

Eat, Pray, Love. Both MCs travel to India. Is that enough of a connection?

message 345: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments Yes, I think that is enough of a connection. I'll move on of the other books.

message 346: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I've updated the spreadsheet with it. We need to try and find something that fits for Team Pyxis. I looked over their books and I didn't see anything that works with what I'm currently reading.

message 347: by Melissa (last edited Feb 23, 2018 07:03AM) (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments Elena - I think your book would fit with this one Hyperion Team Eris.

Can you read the synopsis and let me know if you think it does?

If not it should fit with Ready Player One as both MC have to save their world. I'll move stuff around to make it fit somewhere.

I can find a book to fit Team Pyxis. I have Speak and it's been more than 6 months since I've read it and it's a quick read.

message 348: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I've got a hold on The Color of Magic but I don't think I'll get it in time. I'm hoping to get off work in time to pick up a physical copy instead of waiting for the ebook. That would fit Pyxis, but I've also got three books and I'm not sure I will make it to a forth book.

Foundation (Foundation #1) by Isaac Asimov
Foundation (Foundation #1) by Isaac Asimov
Date: Feb 22

@Melissa - thanks for looking into it!

Similarities with Hyperion - in both books there's a galactic crisis, both worlds are at risk of being attacked and in both books a religious reverence has been formed around the entity of Shrike in Hyperion and of Foundation in Foundation. At least that's what I gathered from synopsis and reviews, may not be entirely accurate.

As for Ready Player One - there's no single MC in Foundation, it consists of 5 parts and each part has it's own character in focus but there are definitely actions being taken to save the world. Also both covers have similar orangy-red color palette :)
