Can you put this book on your Uno shelf please? With a read date? Thanks!

Otherwise we cannot use it.

Same for this one.

Please put it on your Uno shelf with a read date.

Also, as I mentioned in my PM, there is a mini challenge - have you been able to read through it? And along the same lines, since you finished this book on the 19th, did you start it after the mini challenge began? So after the 14th?

Thanks!

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Ooookay, Katie!

From the above list only Lord of Darkness is on your Uno shelf.

Could you please add the other two as well? Thanks!

Also, I noticed you have Dirty Magic on your Uno shelf but we don't seem to have a completion post for that one. Could you please add one? Sorry! That one slipped through, didn't see the cover - nevermind :-)

Thanks!

Or something VERY weird is going on with your shelves......
I found the books but without read dates.

Your Read shelf however says 2 books. Your Uno shelf mentions 4 books. Seems like they're all appearing though when you click on the shelves, but it's all very odd haha.

So in the end, it might all be in order and it's just a GR glitch, but just in case it isn't, you might want to check the read dates just to be sure.

message 508: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 2147 comments GR has gone really screwy with shelves the last couple of days...
You’d think the core functionality would be stable... you’d think wrong!

I think you may be expecting just a liiittle bit too much there ;-)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I'm in fits over this cover:

About a Dragon (Dragon Kin, #2) by G.A. Aiken

Because I kept wondering why on earth Katie mentioned single man on the cover when all I saw was long hair and boobs :'DDD

message 511: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 2147 comments Boobs! Hahahaha!
That poor model has spent so much time in the gym to get that body!

message 512: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Hahaha!

But without enlarging it, and from the angle of the shadows... it looks like a teeny bikini with boobs. Add the hair to it....

:-)))

Cat (cat_uk) | 2147 comments when Leigh confirms her two books, we could put Tuesday CLub Murders in the 2 where Two Down (Louise) is currently slotted, and use Two Down for a 1 card - O'Connor char ??
And both would work for Saturn - And Then There Were None, also by Christie, assuming the start date works...

I've started, on audio The Fifth Season by NK Jemisin. It, according to the blurb, has an Essun char, and is #1 in series.

I'm not sure about mini-links though.
The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth, #1) by N.K. Jemisin
cover has upclose feature of building, which might work with House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (Pluto) ?? I'll keep an eye out.
Otherwise, are there books with ordinal number in the title?
ETA: Pluto / First Fifteen Lives... or Musca / Alanna: The First Adventure

The Pluto options can be made to work, if we use a different Cinder rec for Frog Prince - Kuiper or Haumea

message 514: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Sure, that could work, too! Thanks!
I marked another possibility on the spreadsheet that I found while browsing a little.

Whatever works best in the end with least fiddling :-)

And it would be great if the start dates would work, but might just be the second one that works for the mini.

message 515: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments As for your covers - I think the two you linked seem to work together. They both have this ominous vibe, and close-up of buildings.

I'll go have a look later on, see if I can spot something else that could work.
Going to say no to the cardinal numbers.

Switching the Cinder rec won't be a problem :-)

Katie | 230 comments LOL! I thought that about another cover I read recently... Spellbinder (Moonshadow, #2) by Thea Harrison . Yeah, they probably work out for hours a day only to have boobs once they land a cover.

Yeah, my shelves have been weird lately...they all show 0, but the books are still there. I'll go back in tonight and redo the dates on those last 2.

Nevermind, I found something else.

In an effort to complete one more for Cutthroat, I am starting Black & Blue Black & Blue by James Patterson
It should fit one of the remaining "4" cards since the author is Candice Fox.
It will also fit with Team Eris since the cover has barren trees just as the cover of Let the Right One In Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist

Loooool!!

That one is epic!! Some women would be happy to have boobs like that :-p

message 523: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Alriiiight!! Getting there!!

We have two 1 cards left and one Wild card.

The Wild card is in hand thirteen and we can duplicate one of these for it: 1, 7, 9.

The mini challenge is coming along nicely as well :-)
Keep those books coming!! :-D

True, we're done with that team, buuuut, if the cover with the woman and the books is the one you read, we could use it for Team Eris and pair it with another book with books on the cover:

Little Women (Little Women, #1) by Louisa May Alcott

message 541: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 2147 comments I see Leigh's got her books on shelf now, and that only one (Murder is Announced) is mini-compliant.

I've moved Trapped to the Wild #1, filled in the 3 with Henry / Tuesday Club

Argh! They're all so bloody stupid, whiny and NOT AT ALL like they used to be. The "woe-is-me" crap is beginning to get on my nerves. Ty acts like a child and a woman, a childish teen girl basically.

I've put it aside for now - about 60-65% in - and am going to spend a few hours reading my Psy-Changeling book today instead. Not been a great reading week so far but I decided on a lazy Sunday morning with a book :-)
