Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I am afraid this one is a fail for me; 4/5 only.

1. Choose one of your favourite books that you read in 2017 and read another book by the same author: The Unmourned by Meg Keneally and Thomas Keneally AA

2. Now take the author of this book and go to http://www.literature-map.com/
Oscar and Lucinda by Peter Carey AA

3. Choose a book to read from our lists of top 5 -10 Aussie or International books
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton AA

4. Read a book by an author you have never read before. A Life Underwater by Charlie Veron AA

5. Read any book of your choice.
Closing Down by Sally Abbott AA

But Oscar and Lucinda has defeated me, it is not a fast read and I am only around page 200.
Ah, well...

Nicole | 77 comments Well I didn't think I'd get there, but a solid reading session last night had me complete January's challenge.

Book 5: A similar author to a 2017 favourite book's author, Ms Moriarty, was Anthony Doerr and last night I finished his book Memory Wall . It's a collection of short stories. Some were so-so, but others excellent. 3.5★

Lindy-Lane (moonbacklit) | 6 comments getting a late start on this one but have updated my original post #11 on pg #1 of this thread.

read: Ember Island : Kimberley Freeman
Ember Island by Kimberley Freeman read 9.5 [3 stars]

first time reading this author. enjoyed the build up with the plot but felt the ending was abruptly "dropped end". still, checked out all the other works by this author from my library system in my neck of the woods.
