Originally with in Spanish.

I just finished this book. I LOVE books and read continually. I have a couple dozen books that I have read in my life that touch my to my core. I carried these with me whenever I move and are my permanent library. It's been years since I have added to my permanent library, tonight I added this book. It is so good I will read again and again.

The Dead Lake
What is the books original language?
Russian

This is a modern fairy tale type story about a boy from a tiny village in Kazakhstan. The mixture of old traditions and new modern influences was very well done. I got a bit confused with all the names at some points (it is a Russian author after all), but overall it was an enjoyably sad, quick read.

Just finished reading The Bat by Jo Nesbø
This was the first book in the series and I wasn't that impressed by it. Maybe I had been lead to expect far more due to the number of people who had urged me to read this author. I'm hoping future books are better.

Norwegian

They're fantastic and I hope that more people will know about them. Actually there's a good chance for that because HBO is producing a tv series based on the books and it is scheduled to premiere this year :)

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
What is the book's original language?
Dutch

I'm sad to say I've never read this book before, though I have been to the Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam and it was fascinating as well as heartbreaking. This isn't going to be a light-hearted read but it feels like an important read as a human.

The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist
