Jess (seejessread) | 296 comments What are you reading for this category?
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin The book was so good!
Which letter are you focusing on?
I have been finding prompts to fit my book and not the other way around so I grabbed 4 books off my shelf and tried to figure out if they fit in both of my challenges and where and this one fit here and I was excited to dig into it.

Completed 2/23

I read Nasty Women: Feminism, Resistance, and Revolution in Trump's America. There were a lot of good essays in this, but it felt like a bit of a slog at times. Politics is rough these days.

Which letter are you focusing on?
Not really focusing on any letter in particular, but I did like that all the letters were in one word in the title (Nasty) and all in order.

Jennifer White (jwhitern) For this challenge I read "Between Shads of Gray" by Ruta Sepetys. I really enjoyed this book!

Deadly Little Secret

- Which letter are you focusing on?
I'm not focusing on any letter. I've had this book on my TBR pile since 2012 and it was one I actually paid money for, so wanted to read it (my older books keep getting bumped for newer ones!)

message 205: by Serendipity (new)

Serendipity | 441 comments I usually enjoy Elizabeth Berg so had ordered The Story of Arthur Truluv from the library. I read it and then debated which category to count it for. I nearly used it for "A book with a warm atmosphere" but figured it would be easier to find soemthign for that later. If not I guess I'll shift it.

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11183 comments Mod
I just finished Astrophysics for People in a Hurry and it was interesting. It was a short book, but it took me a while to read because it is so dense.

message 207: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (s4r4h) | 29 comments I read Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood and it has all the letters.

message 208: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Pederson | 12 comments The book started out strong, but lost it's way. I found it to be meandering and I was easily distracted. There were pages and pages of "what does this have to do with the story?" I liked the style of writing, but the authors skill would lend itself better to another genre.Sons and Daughters of Ease and Plenty

message 209: by Marta (new)

Marta (gezemice) | 859 comments So my strategy for this one was just to read my books and one will have those letters soon. Interestingly enough, no book I read qualified until mid-March (I did not want to count subtitles). Who knew that A, T and Y were so hard to come by together in a title?

So I ended up using Lady Cop Makes Trouble. Fun book. Sequel to Girl Waits with Gun, which has a revolver on the cover (a clue, a clue!)

message 210: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Maloney (desertrose0601) For this one I read Turtles All the Way Down. It was very good! I've been working my way through the John Green books and really enjoyed this one.

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

I went looking for all 3 letters just to see if I can find them in a title.

Sheri | 119 comments What are you reading for this category?

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay

Which letter are you focusing on?

I don't really know what it means by focusing on a letter, since the point is to have all three in it. I mostly was planning on reading this anyhow, and realized AT and Y were in it.

I was focusing on the letter y in the titles of the books.

Becca | 1 comments I’m late starting but for this one I did the Friday night knitting club

message 215: by GailW (new)

GailW (abbygg) | 657 comments I read Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.

I did not concentrate on any letter really. Simply did a search and then looked for what I already had.

message 216: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments - What are you reading for this category? I read Thirteen Reasons Why on a spur of a moment. I initially had The Last Days of Night slated here.
- Which letter are you focusing on? I'm not focusing on a letter. I've read a lot of side reads so I was trying to fit one into a category.

message 217: by Kim (new)

Kim (kmyers) | 539 comments Surreptitiously, Atomic City Girls fit this category, since I wanted to read it anyway.
The Atomic City Girls by Janet Beard

All the Money in the World: What the Happiest People Know about Getting and Spending

All the Money in the World

Which letter are you focusing on?

I just wanted to get this read and it fit this prompt. I didn't focus one one particular letter.

message 219: by Anne (new)

Anne | 307 comments I've just read Death Comes to Pemberley by P D James. Really enjoyed it. Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James

Rokkan (rokk) | 96 comments I was planning on reading Beauty Queens for this one, but I read The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter first and was a little behind on my count at that point so... yeah. Didn't concentrate on any particular letter, was just trying to shoehorn at that point.

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 836 comments - What are you reading for this category?
How to Marry a Marquis by Julia Quinn

- Which letter are you focusing on?
None? I actually joined this challenge late so I read the book way before I knew of this category. I was on an ill-advised Julia Quinn binge read and this was the last I read before deciding to stop.

I was intrigued by the title and cover of this book. Is it good? I might read this in the future. I can relate to the "perfect daughter" expectation.

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments What are you reading for this category?
I read Autoboyography, and I absolutely loved it!

Which letter are you focusing on?
I don't really understand this question since the prompt requires all three letters?

For some reason, I got stuck on the idea of finding a book that had all three letters in the same title in the word, and I knew immediately that I was going to pick this book.

Is good and is about Julia finding herself after the death of her sister.

message 225: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 1730 comments I picked a book that has been on my kindle for awhile. It was a free book from BookBub.
The Kinshield Legacy.

message 226: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I read The Day of the Scorpion, which worked out beautifully since it was the second in a four book series I am reading.

message 227: by Tracy (last edited Sep 09, 2018 05:01PM) (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments My original pick was The Anatomy of Hope: How People Prevail in the Face of Illness because it was the first book I came across on my shelf that had the letters ATY in order on the title , and Ive been meaning to read it for a really long time.

I ended up reading The Fact of a Body: A Murder and a Memoir which (YAY!) also had the letters ATY in order. I wrote a long winded review of this one. It was weird non fiction. I didn't feel like I got all the facts, but rather the authors interpretations of how people may have felt and what they may have said. It was a pretty good book though.

This is another prompt Ive managed to triple with my challenges. For Mid grade we read aloud Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman. I can not recommend this one enough, its probably one of THE best read alouds ever. My girls chose to skip movie time every night until we finished this :-)
Do It!!!!!!

And for our picture books A Bean, a Stalk and a Boy Named Jack, not a big hit but checked one off the list and the girls liked the ending where the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk turns into Jack and Jill.

Hey all of these have the letters ATY in order. That wasn't on purpose. Go me!

message 228: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments What are you reading for this category? The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell

Which letter are you focusing on? Coming to Week #1 so late in the game, I was going to sub in a book read earlier in the year that satisfied the prompt and was terrific - The Italian Party, but I stuck it out. 'Wordy' is a timely, wry and kind of humorous historical essay on the Puritans' journey to America. I like it already, so my letter's an A!
