I am listening to The Templar Legacy (Cotton Malone #1) by Steve Berry. Many mystery/thriller folks enjoy this author, and I have not read his works yet.

I am reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
- Which letter are you focusing on?
I am not focusing on any letter in particular, although this book has all three in the title. It was a book I have meant to read for years, so figured this was a good opportunity.

I can't read a book a week, so I have to combine topics, I will be reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas for the week one and two topic. It fulfills a book with A, T, & Y as well as a book from the first 10 on my want to read shelf. Coincidentally, it also fulfills a topic from the 2018 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge for the Book Made Into a Movie I've Already Seen.

This will be January's book. I'll update what I choose for February. Happy Reading! :)

I read Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I really enjoyed it and recommend it for anyone looking for a good adventure book. Some of the old english writing can be difficult but there is not a lot and it is not bad once you get used to it.

I'm going to be reading The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian because that's been on my TBRNow! list for what feels like forever. Confession: I only recently realized that it's NOT an "absolutely true diary," it's fiction! LOL at myself! Second Confession: it's only last week that I realized "A,T,Y" is Around The Year. it seems so obvious now!!

I'm not a native speaker of the English Language and I'm looking for an easy-reading. And it will better if the book is about 200 pages or less, because it takes me an eternity to finish a book in English.

I am suprised that I didn't find anyone picking Harry Potter series here 🤣. I think about reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, but I'd like to read something different.

I’ve read several books from the Quick Reads programme. It’s designed for people who are less confident reading English, either because it’s their second language or because they don’t read very much. All the books are around 100 pages and the language level is deliberately quite easy. I think there are a few titles that would work for this prompt.

I’m always in awe of anyone who speaks a second language well enough to read fiction in it. I speak a little Spanish but that’s as far as my language skills go!

Reading in English help me to develop my English skill, tha'=t's why I'm always writing in foruns, reading reviews, and also reading books in English.

Last year I read 2 books, The Phantom of the Opera that took me 2 months to finish - but I liked it, and A Man Called Ove a book that I totally disliked. I think I didn't like it because I don't get all the meanings of what was said in the book, so sometimes is better to read more complex books in your language.

Marina, I put a brief description in the books section just now. It is a funny book and good for people like me (American) who bemoan the fact that we have no safety net and pay way too much for our health care. I'm not sure if you would enjoy it. She is mainly trying to figure out what makes Denmark the happiest country in the world but she does a nice job of making fun of herself as she tries to figure out how to adjust to life in Denmark. I'm curious what Danish people think of the book.

I read that for this challenge as well! It's worth pointing out that while you're correct in that it's fiction, it's actually autobiographical fiction. It's based on Sherman Alexie's own youth growing up on the Spokane reservation and his struggle to grow beyond it. The narrator's initials, Arnold Spirit, are even the reserve of Alexie's. Also, it's just such a beautiful book, I cried my eyes out reading it. I hope you enjoy it!

I absolutely LOVED this book. And yes, it was very disturbing. So much to debate about. One of my top reads last year. It kind of blew my mind......I thought it was heartbreaking and I kind of fell in love with the characters but was so uncomfortable with it and then uncomfortable with myself because I was rooting for them, if that makes sense? The title is so perfect. It is definitely ugly AND wonderful.
