Welcome Bek! Make yourself at home! :)
Oh, I will! I'm quite busy collecting Ms. Heyer once again. Thank goodness for a reliable source for used and out-of-print books! I'll be ordering another 5 or 6 this month!
Hello! I discovered Georgette Heyer while working at Waldenbooks some years ago. The first one I read was Frederica. I was hooked! I quickly read The Nonesuch, The Convenient Marriage, The Talisman Ring and The Corinthian. Over the years, I've collected more of her books. Finding this group has given me a wonderful excuse to read them again. Thank you!

Welcome, Rebecca and Tricia! This is a lovely group - smart, too! I’ve learned so much about Heyer, her novels, and the Georgian and Regency periods - it’s been delightful, look forward to reading and discussing with you!
Susan in NC wrote: "Oh, I’m sorry, do you prefer Rebecca or Bek? I’ve been away a bit and just saw your comment above."Either is fine. I generally sign correspondence with "Bek," but in person most call me "Bekki." I'm not awfully picky about it.
OH! I just noticed that we are neighbors! I'm also in NC.

❇Critterbee wrote: "Welcome, Tricia! Frederica was the second GH that I read (I think)."Hello! I really can't remember for sure if it was Frederica or The Nonesuch that I read first. I think it was Frederica. I just remember reading them back to back because they were so good!
Susan in NC wrote: "Welcome, Rebecca and Tricia! This is a lovely group - smart, too! I read GH before I discovered Jane Austen. It's my favorite time period for romances.
Hello all, I don't know the protocol for leaving the group and then returning because I realize that I missed reading your GH posts. I joined in October of 2017 and for some reason exited from the group. Now, I've come to my senses (LOL) and have returned since I need a good healthy dose of GH romance novels. Please accept me back my GH fans. My GR friend (Susan in NC) persuaded me to rejoin the group when I commented on her posts about the Foundling. I look forward to reading that one. I am currently on the waitlist at my local library. Thanks for having me...again.

We aren't that sort of group. No requirement to stay a member if you don't want too - & I don't have a problem with lurkers. I hope they enjoy reading our ramblings.
Anyway, welcome back! :)
Hey, Shannon, so glad to see you here. I should’ve known, a discerning reader like yourself would’ve found this wonderful group! Glad to see you here.
Welcome one and all!!! This group keeps me sane, especially the last few months. We have a great years reading to look forward to.
Susan in NC wrote: "Hey, Shannon, so glad to see you here. I should’ve known, a discerning reader like yourself would’ve found this wonderful group! Glad to see you here."Back atcha Susan. I admire your reading list too. Thanks.
❇Critterbee wrote: "Hello S Dizzy! Welcome (back) always! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Foundling."Critterbee, thank you so much. I can't wait to read it!!! I'm trying not to read the spoiler thread. LOL
Welcome back Shannon. As Carol says, there are no requirements in this group to participate in every read. Some months I say a lot - others I don’t, but I always enjoy reading everything that everyone says in the discussions. Sometimes, as Carol said, it’s good to be a lurker! Enjoy my friend!
Hello, I'm Maith. Long time Heyer fan - my school librarian introduced me to her via The Grand Sophy when I was 11, back in the eighties - I remember part of the thrill was that I was allowed to borrow books from the "senior library" which was a significant thing to a 6th grader! I loved TGS and quickly worked my way through all the Heyers after that. I own most - all the Historicals and most of the Detective stories, mostly ancient PAN paperbacks that are held together with tape :) Looking forward to joining the discussions as time permits - I used to be on the old Heyerlist when it was a mailing list (and on the Austen and LPW ones as well) and haven't kept up with any groups since the old mailing lists went defunct.

Hello, Maith, Welcome! The Grand Sophy has recently been referred to by Margaret as a 'gateway Heyer,' which is the perfect description for it! We are reading it as a group this month, feel free to join and share opinions.

Thank you, yes I plan to join in! (Actually posted something too :))
Welcome Maith. This is a great group. Hope you enjoy it. Just looking at your name, it's how we say in Irish. Are you good? :-)
Teresa wrote: "That's meant to be how we say 'good' in Irish. Sorry."How lovely! I have a long and rather obscure name and Maith is my nickname and now I find out it means something good too!

ooh how exciting! It's one of my top 10 favorite Heyer Regency novels.
Hi, I’m Yvonne and have just discovered Georgette Heyer at the ripe old age of 56. I went through a period of reading mills and boons when I was a teenager which rather put me off the genre. I am an audible member though and they had a month free offer on their romance package so I thought I would try The grand Sophie as I had heard a lot about it, loved it and binged listened to Cousin Kate, Sylvester, Arabella, Faro”s daughter and the Corinthian. Loved The grand Sophie, Sylvester and Arabella is my favourite so far. I love her books are very well written, funny and don’t have sex scenes that make you cringe. I wish I had found them earlier.

Thank you, I’m in Australia, just finished The quiet gentleman which I liked very much so I’m ready.
Welcome, Yvonne!Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about The Quiet Gentleman - it is our September group read.
Hi everyone *wave*! I just saw that there’s a GH group! So naturally i joined so fast, nice to meet you all :)
I’m Lainey, i’m from Thailand and I was so (too) late in discovering GH! I only started to read her works three years ago but I think I am progressing in a nice pace: so far I’ve read 6 books of hers.
My first ever being The Grand Sophy but it wasn’t until I met Frederica that I fell totally head over heels for her, it’s my favorite of GH and one of my top five favorite of all kinds of books ever ❤️ I just reread it a few months ago and if it was even possible, I actually loved it more. Oh the magic that is Georgette Heyer’s writing~

Your very welcome Lainey. Her books are marvelous. You're in time to join next months book read. It's always great fun.
Hi! I’m Samantha and I joined the group last month. I’ve read a handful of GH’s regency romances and have only recently read one of her mystery novels (which I loved!). My first, and currently favourite book of GH’s is The Grand Sophy.
Welcome, Samantha! Grand Sophy was my first as well! Next month, we are reading Cotillion, which is a fav of mine as well, so hopefully you will like it.

I'm Rebecca, or Bek if you prefer. My very first Georgette Heyer is still my favorite, "The Spanish Bride." I believe I read it along about 1970. I know I hadn't graduated high school yet, so that seems about right.
