Thought it was an L.J. Smith book but it’s not. A high school girl doesn’t know she’s a shapeshifter and only finds out in a dream where she sees the most popular boy in school shift into a large cat and she does the same. She wakes up the next day thinking it’s just a dream but her shoes are muddy. Because it is revealed that she is a shapeshifter too, she gets accepted into the popular boy’s group and becomes his girlfriend but she can’t take the drinking blood part. She has a best friend who’s a guy. She leaves the popular guy but he’s not happy. I think it might be part of a series of books. Thanks!

Hi Kris! Thanks so much for your comment! I would say maybe 1994?? So my guess is that the book was published in the 90s and I’m pretty sure both the main girl and her bf shifted into large cats.. can’t remember what exactly, maybe a panther or jaguar? It’s killing me not knowing what book this is!

I also remember there was a part in the book about a dance card and the bf said that her dance card would be full - all dances taken by him. And that he would rub his fingers on his sleeve when annoyed/angry.
