Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Of the new books I read in the fall challenge, I had a couple of five-stars, both of them in the last week:

A Sand County Almanac and Sketches Here and There - beautifully written, and just as relevant and important as it was in 1949

The Sense of an Ending - my surprise of the challenge

Heather(Gibby) (heather-gibby) | 1307 comments I had 5 five star reads-and coincidently (?) they were all Canadian authors. Part of the credit is that I get such strong recommendations from my Canlit Goodreads Group.
The Witches of New York
The Lonely Hearts Hotel
A Sunday at the Pool in Kigali
Son of a Trickster
Under This Unbroken Sky

steph (librarianish) (steph_davidson) | 540 comments My 5-star reads:The Nix
House of Suns
Old Man's War
Kindred
Underground Airlines
Imagine Me Gone
Dark Matter
Illuminae

That's WAY more than I'd normally have in a 3-month period, so I'm thrilled!! Hope winter is just as fruitful. House of Suns was completely new to me, and now I want to read everything by the author. Sci Fi w/ accurate science, FTW! Most of the others are sci/spec-fi as well.

Siobhan J | 409 comments My top 5 were:

1. The Subtle Knife - can't believe I haven't read this before, picked it up this year at the urging of my fiance and LOVED it.
2. Hexslayer - THEY FELL IN LOVE ;;
3. Poirot Investigates - I can't believe that I never really read Agatha Christie before this year either, this was great!
4. An Unsuitable Heir - a really interesting mystery, and made me think about things in really positive ways!
5. Hot Air: A Villainous Love Story - a surprisingly well written superhero romance!
