No, we can use it or ignore it, I think we have the choice to ignore it because of that system but in the spell it out we can choose to use it.

Added these, and yes to what Corey said.
Kaitlin wrote: "Just want to check - I notice we have a "A Goldy Bear Culinary Mystery" filed under A. I thought we had to ignore A, An and The at the beginning. At least that's how it works in the library world. ..."
What Corey said, again :). Being able to use both just gives us some nice wiggle room for a game like this.
Also, I added Elmer ;)
I stopped reading Grim, I'll finish reading it another week.Currently reading Curtsies & Conspiracies. There are A LOT of characters in this book. I'll list them later.
I'm going to try to get to another Y book today, but I have plans for this afternoon that go into the evening so I'm not sure if I'll make it. If anyone else has a Y they can find, we need it!

Works for me, that was an easy swap :)
Corey wrote: "Finished one thousand white women"
Got it, but you don't have a date set on your shelf.
Finished Curtsies & Conspiracies. Do you want me to list the characters or is it okay?I also finished reading False Memory. Characters: Miranda, Noah, Olive, Peter, and Rhys.
At this point, only if there's one with a Y :)I'm on my way home and then I'll try to speed read through my last 75 pages or so. Fingers crossed I can make it!
Finished Strange and Ever After. (let me know if you want me to list characters).Just started Mars Burning and there's a Y character! The character is Yevgeny. There's probably more characters that can work, but we might want to take advantage of the Y.

Yay for more Y's!
Now to just figure out all those U's...
If you all don't mind continuing to list the other letter options, that would be great :). Sometimes there are helpful characters that aren't in the blurbs. This looks like it's going to be a challenging week, but we can do it team! Let's keep pushing onward!
Other possible characters for Strange and Ever After are Oliver and Allison.Finished Mars Rising (I screwed up! I'm reading that one, not Mars Burning!). other charcter that works is Chancellor Lucca (works as just Lucca).
Woohoo, my friend just let me borrow Orphan Train, so now I don't have to wait for a library copy! I'll switch over and start that to give us an O.
I saw it :), just haven't gotten a chance to get on the actual computer yet. I usually check on my phone and I can't edit or link things when I do that. We will get it all updated tonight :)
Jessica (Goldenfurpro) wrote: "And I'm back to reading Grim"Technically with this we can only use the anthology name and editor. I'm not sure how the character names work, so I'll ask. Until I get an answer, lets just assume we can use any. Let me know what you find as I can't fit it otherwise.
Kme_17 wrote: "read A Dangerous Dress and Skating Around the Law with a character name Lionel"
Are these completed or planned? I couldn't find them on your shelf.
Kaitlin wrote: "Finished You Shall Know Our Velocity! byDave Eggers. Characters don't fit."
This doesn't have a date read on your shelf. For now I put it under D, but I will move it to Y if we get enough books to need another round.
Jessica (Goldenfurpro) wrote: "Well, the title works at least."Oh! You're right, sorry! Not sure how I missed that...
Finished A Week to Be Wicked. In case it's needed, there is a character Lord Payne in addition to what I listed before.
I'm working on Beautiful Music for Ugly Children by Kirstin Cronn-Mills. Main character is Gabe. Works for genre too.
All is updated :)Great work so far, you guys! This is a tough set. If you find any U's or N's we definitely need them to finish our rounds! I picked up two from the library today, but this week is turning out busier than expected, so I may not get to both.
Found a "U". Until Trevor by Aurora Rose Reynolds. I'm also just about finished with Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. There are so many characters but I'll look for letters we need.
Finished Grim. Now reading Minders, since it's due back at the library soon. I'll let you know what characters work later!
Finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Characters: James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser, Laoghaire MacKenzie. Letters: O, D, G, A, L

Hey Everyone, sorry I've been so quiet this week. School starts next week and I represent about 35 children with special needs to help them get the accommodations they need from the School Board, so naturally I've been bombarded with calls and meetings with parents this week because the week before school starts is the perfect time to bring up your concerns before the start of the school year. Haha, needless to say I've been busy this week, but over the last few weeks I've been chipping away at American Gods by Neil Gaiman and have finished it. That will give us N,G, A, L (Low Key Lyesmith, Lauren), T (Technical Boy). I wish it had a U but I don't recall one, too bad I read Allegiant already or we could have used Uriah. I'll try to get a small book in, I have The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time I'll see if there is a U character in there.
I finished A Red Herring Without Mustard by Alan Bradley. Characters include Ursula, Gladys and of course the de Luce family.
Just finished reading (Don't You) Forget About Me.Characters: LuAnn, Ozzy (both are very minor characters)
read The Case of the Deadly Butter Chicken by Tarquin Hall and Ultimate Concealer: A Toni Diamond Mystery by Nancy Warren and I'm Not Julia Roberts by Laura Ruby also fix the others sorry : )
I got everything updated on the spreadsheet, but as I have had a very long day, I'm going to wait until tomorrow to update the post in the thread. Sorry about that guys! I'm just going to go try to get a bit of reading in and then crash. Until I get the thread updated, here's the spreadsheet link: Spreadsheet
Just finished reading The Half Life of Molly Pierce by Katrina Leno. Characters: Lyle, AlexSorry about reading so many unhelpful books this week. I'm trying to read all (almost all) of my library books before school starts. But I'm reading Unfurl next to knock out a U.

ANYTHING helps :). U's are hard to find, but it wouldn't matter if we didn't have the other letters as well. No worries there!
Everything is updated again :)For our last day, we need Y, O, N, or G, if you're looking to start anything.
I'm going to see what I have in my stack, but I have a ton of housework to catch up on (and visitors coming over!) so I'm reluctant to say I'll be able to finish another book in time. We shall see how much time I can squeeze in :).
We have a lovely rainy day here, which equals lots of reading time so I think I'm going to be able to finish Soulless by tonight, which should give us a G (for Gail Carriger). That leaves Y, O and N if you find any that fit ;).
