Someone may have beaten me to it but The Night Circus has a set of twins. I loved that book but I read it last year. So, for this prompt, I'm reading The Thirteenth Tale

Those into YA fantasy - Dividing Eden "When their father and older sibling are killed by assassins, a pair of royal twins who were never destined to rule are forced to compete against each other in a dangerous trial that is shaped by the schemes of a power-hungry ruling council."
I just finished Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (I read it in French). It's a powerful story set in Nigeria and Biafra, and whose main characters are (non-identical) twins. Great read!
Monkiecat wrote: "I'll Give You the Sun the two main characters are twins, and it goes back and forth from one voice to the other. Your mileage may vary, but I loved this one!"Great book!!!!
One ... I read this for last year's challenge (genre I've never heard of - fiction written as poetry). This book was amazing and features conjoined twins! The Thirteenth Tale ... Wonderful book!
Dead Letters by Caite Dolan-Leach and The Child Thief by Dan Smith have a set of twins. The kindle editions of both are on sale today for $1.99.
I read The Black Tides of Heaven by J.Y. Yang. The main characters are twins. The story is different and interesting.
It would also work for the LGBTQ+ prompt.
I am currently reading Not That I Could Tell by Jessica Strawser which has twins as part of the main story arc.
Cutting for Stone had been on my TBR list for several years. Thsi was the perfect chance to tick it off.

I hope "different and interesting" is good as I just started The Black Tides of Heaven
I think I'm going to go with You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone which can also count as published in 2018. Though I have plenty of other books out or coming out this year on my list, I don't need to double-count.
I read Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie as I saw she was on the panel for Man Booker 50. There are the twin characters who are central to the story.

I just finished this book and liked it more than I expected. The twin relationship figures as a pretty big part of the plot, too.
Jenn wrote: "Force of Nature by Jane Harper has twins in it. This book would also satisfy the 'next in a series' if you've read The Dry. It also works for 'book published in 2018' and 'book set ..."
I'm so glad you mentioned this!! I'd been wanting to read it but had trouble fitting it in. Knowing it checks off a Challenge category helped me push it to the top of my list. I'm reading it now, it's very good, and the twin sisters seem to be major characters.

I read Tyler Johnson Was Here. It would also work for the bonus prompt, a book about a problem facing society together (Black Lives Matter movement)
I decided to read John Gabriel Borkman by Henrik Ibsen. It's a play with a protagonist named John Gabriel Borkman but two secondary characters are twins.
I'm currently listening to The Ice Twins. It does make car trips etc. go faster, but UGHHHHHH the repetitive writing is making me crazy! My impression: "Did he say what I thought he said? He did. He did say it. He called her X. He CALLED her X. What does that mean? No. No. I'm imagining it. I must be imagining it. but he DID say it. He SAID it."Someone please tell me it gets more suspenseful later.

My impression: "Did he say what I thought he..."I really enjoyed the overall plot of the Ice Twins (and didn't guess the ending) but I agree that the writing wasn't great.
Just started The Nest by Cynthia D'Aprix and I'm enjoying it. It's a good change of pace from the slew of non-fiction I've been reading for work and pleasure.

Not all books are for luxuriating in the language. :-)
Sorry if I've already posted this, I honestly can't remember. But I read Beside Myself, which is a creepy book about twins who trade places, and then one of them refuses to switch back.
I am putting Lord of the Flies into this category. I was originally going to use it for the Advanced prompt "An Allegory," but I didn't have a book for this prompt and can now use A Wrinkle in Time for the allegory prompt instead. There is nothing negative to say about this book, in my opinion, unless you are put off by the depiction of these boys as they descend into savagery. As a literary classic and an allegorical novel, I did occasionally have to go back and reread portions of the novel, mostly because it's been so long since I've had to sit and analyze a novel. These characters are really well done [especially for a book that is so short - my copy was only 202 pages] and the style is interesting [especially the way he writes dialogue]. If I had to find a fault in this novel, it may be that the ending is sort of abrupt.
For anyone else taking the 2018 Challenge, this book would also fill the prompts:
A Book Made into a Movie You've Already Seen, A Novel about a Villain or Antihero, A Book about Death or Grief, A Book with an Animal in the Title, A Childhood Classic You've Never Read (I know it's required reading at a lot of high schools), An Allegory
I reread South of Broad by Pat Conroy with my book club. I originally read this in 2009 and I am not much for rereading books. It's still just as good as I remembered. I was surprised at how much I had forgotten.
I went with The Thirteenth Tale which seemed to be created for this catagory. I actually got a bit annoying with how much they hit you over the head with the twin thing.
Well, there are so many suggestions here! So many books with twins in.Unfortunately I read Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffeneger.
It was awful.
But i already had it on my shelves.
What a waste of time!
I read I’ll give you the sun that’s perfectly fit this prompt. And what a beautiful story circling around twins.
I read The Diminished by Kaitlyn Sage Patterson for this. It's fantasy and literally everyone is born a twin (the rare single borns are considered special) and heaven help you if your twin dies because their religion will persecute the crap out of you if you don't fall them into death. It wasn't really the book for me (I've had just about enough of oppressive religions in RL to want to read about them) but it's fairly highly rated.
If you like YA fantasy and fairy tale retellings, there's a fun pair of young twin sisters that shows up in this book (and some of the books following in the series):The Princess Companion: A Retelling of The Princess and the Pea
They get their own follow up series starting in:
A Dance of Silver and Shadow: A Retelling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses
I enjoyed the books, and there are several other possible prompts through the series (vegetable in title, favorite color in title, etc.) if you end up wanting to read all the books.
I also have Prophecy of the Sisters on my reading pile, which looks interesting.
Also, if you need to fit more Chronicles of Narnia books in to your challenge, one of them counts, but I'll hide the title under a spoiler tag, since the twin aspect doesn't come into it until late in the story. (view spoiler)
I plan on reading
The Ice Twins by S.K. Tremayne. Sounds intriguing. Has anyone read it? Would you reccomend it?
Shadow Child by Rahna Reiko Rizzuto features twin main characters and it is a great read!A little on the dark and twisty side and beautifully written. Family, identity, history, Hawaii, NY, a bit of a whodunit? Riveting read. Also works for prompt #34 - published this year if you want some flexibility. :D

I don't know if this really counts (and I don't need it for my own challenge since I already checked off this category) but Mongrels features two siblings who were born together. They were triplets when they were born, but the third sibling died as a young adult, so now they are ... twins? or do they still count as two triplets?
I read From Twinkle, with Love this week. I wasn't planning on using it for this challenge, but there were twin characters who play a pretty big role in the story line. It's a YA romance if that's anyone's type of thing.
I've already fulfilled this prompt, but I'm currently reading Little Do We Know and one of the characters has a twin. However, it's not a prominent part of the storyline. It will be available tomorrow!
There's a 4 book series that starts with The Tapper Twins Go to War (with each other). It's by author, Geoff Rodkey. They are quick middle grades books that have a lot of pictures if you are looking to get through something quickly to check this topic off!
