Would grape be considered a variation on the color purple?

"grape" is a color (at least according to the Dharma Trading Co Procion fabric dye I have), but "grapes" is a noun. So, since it's plural, that makes it dicey. They aren't using it to mean the color, so you have to decide if it works for you or not. In 2017 for "month or day" a lot of people used titles that had "March" or "July" and so on in the title when those were being used to mean other things, so there is precedent for ignoring the title's meaning and just using the word in the title to fulfill the category.

It's up to you! You can either read any book with a color in the title that looks good, or you can choose a color of clothing that you tend to wear often and look for that.

I enjoyed Shades of Grey, but it's definitely different than Fforde's other work and wasn't strongly received. So even though it was meant to be the start of a series, another book hasn't been written and doesn't look like it will be.

That said, I really found it an interesting world and made me a think, as the way color is used is definitely a metaphor.

I'd say it's only cheating if your interpretation makes it so. Me? If pink were my favorite color, I'd be fine with a word like Pinkerton being in the title as fitting the prompt.

My plan so far is:
favourite color = blue
Aliteration = Not sure if Ruby Red would work for this one.
Or use
Timetravel (just saw that one today)
next in a series or borrowed (overdrive) = Green

There is a lot of wild cards this year so might do favorite prompt from 2015, 2016, 2017 (doing all 3 so I reach 52 books)

It really is a puzzle sometimes. I have so many series I want to finish that I am trying to fit in the challenge...

A lot of people seem to feel that way about that book! it's one of those books that I know I'm eventually going to try to read someday, but ... not this year!

If you search for "orange" in the Search Books field, a lot of books pop up. I haven't read any of them so I can't exactly recommend one, but I'm sure you can find an interesting book that way!
