My favourite colour is yellow, for it is bright, bold and makes me feel joyful. My selection for this prompt is The Yellow Wall-Paper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Having read the synopsis though, it doesn't sound like this novel will be bright or joyful haha nevertheless I look forward to reading this short novel

LOL NO that is not a bright and joyful book!! I read it in college, and I LOVED it, so I do recommend it. And yes it's short.

That's not a color, it's a pattern! pick a color in your favorite leopard print and search for that?

The first 4 books of Ann Cleeves Shetland Island series:Raven Black
White Nights
Red Bones
Blue Lightning
Paula wrote: "You guys, my favorite color is leopard print. Help!"I'm in the "it's a pattern, not a color" camp. But if you're determined to go with it, there's always The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards...
Hmmm...the color purple. or the Lavender Garden by Lucinda Riley sounds good. If all else fails there's my favorite book from childhood: Harold and the Purple Crayon.

Someone may have already suggested this, but there is also Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. He's one of my favourite authors, he's a bit of a cross between Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams
So what if you have a hard time picking a favorite color!?! Wondering if this books would count? Its about all kinds of colors..Color: A Natural History of the Palette
BlackBlack Beauty by Anna Sewell
Blue
Pastures of the Blue Crane by Hesba Brimsmead
Both can also be used for children's classics you haven't read.

I really like the reading Heather Klinke did for the HP Lovecraft Literary Podcast: The Yellow Wallpaper

I agree on your HARD NO. How about The Picture of Dorian Gray or Agnes Grey?

This is actually a great start. Thank you so much!
I'm really excited to read Green on Blue which just so happens to have my top two favorite colors in the title! I'm hoping to convince my husband to read it too. He seems interested, which is amazing since he generally doesn't like fiction. But the subject hits close to home for him so I think I can win him over :)

if you have a hard time picking a colour, I highly suggest Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage

There are a whole heap of books with the same title
My favorite color is pink, and I have heard great things about the book When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr.
JoAnna wrote: "My favorite color is pink, and I have heard great things about the book When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr."Oh, THAT is really great. There are at least 2 more to follow along as Judith grows older.

The Orange Girl
If you like old school PI mysteries, John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee series all have colors in the Titles: The Deep Blue Goodbye, Nightmare in Pink, A Purple Place for Dying, The Quick Red Fox, Bright Orange for the Shroud, Pale Grey for Guilt, Dress Her in Indigo, The Long Lavender Look, The Turquoise Lament, The Lonely Silver Rain are a few.
I'm stuck between blue (Blue Asylum) and purple (Purple Hibiscus). At least I have options on hand for both.
For lovers of urban fantasy and the color red, the ninth book in Seanan McGuire's October Daye series is A Red-Rose Chain. Granted, this is not a series you can start in the middle of, but I was able to use the first five books in this year's challenge.
I'm using this prompt as an opportunity to read a children's book Pinkalicious. One of my nieces had a birthday party themed after this book a few years back so it must be good!
Pinkalicious is great!!!! (I was not so impressed with the various sequels, though)
"You get what you get and you don't get upset!

I didn't realize that quote was from Pinkalicious! We used a variation of that all the time when I worked with the Girl Scouts!!
Oh it's possible the Pinkalicious author did not invent the term, but that's where I learned it!
Aubrey wrote: "I'm stuck between blue (Blue Asylum) and purple (Purple Hibiscus). At least I have options on hand for both."Blue Asylum was ok. Nothing spectacular but I wouldn't say it was bad either.
Noticed another one on my shelf for the color black:Black Horses for the King
It's been a long time since I read it, but if you like mythology/historical fiction I remember it being a fairly interesting story focusing on King Arthur's blacksmith.
If anyone is into biography and the colour blue, then I would recommend Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant
