have a good one.
I'm just sitting here hating social media.
I do a blog tour which depends for its success on people reblogging the various blogs.
And what happens. Wordpress manages to 'lose' the reblog buttons!
I could spit!

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Ugh, Jim, I'm sorry, that's a real pain. I think you can still do it but maybe they have to cut and paste the post address into a new one. Or is there a button you need to press somewhere to switch reblogging back on?

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Good luck sorting out Wordpress Jim good luck metal detecting MT. Glad you are home safe again Kelly, sorry that you have rain though. Charity admin kind of finished, going to have some lunch

I clambered into the guts of the system and according to the settings my 'reblog' button is still switched on!

What I do is that I copy and paste half the blog post to be shared into my blog, and then leave a link at the bottom so people can see the rest
But it's a faff, and whilst I do it because it's my book that's being promoted, other people are less likely to go to that sort of trouble :-(

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments MT. One is tiny. Like a sparrow. She’d banged her leg and showed me her bruises and i told her straight there was more meat on a chicken leg. Another has cancer and the third one is 47 kgs tiny but about 5 feet tall wears size 3 Laboutins. I love her to bits even though she’s a living Barbie, she’s a great friend. Still make me feel like a big stag as my sister once called me. Still, brightside is I won’t blow over in the wind.

into every life a little rain must fall
But it drove home to me that those of us using social media to sell our books are reliant on systems that are managed by people who often don't understand their systems and haven't really got a clue what people actually use them for.

That's why I am so reliant on my mailing list. It's the only thing over which I have any control.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I read a tweet today that said that Nigel Farage looks just like what you’d get if Kermit really had banged Miss Piggy...

As you were.

I love teaching this class. Great bunch of kids.

Good thing I wore my big coat!

I hope that at the very least you dived to the ground and had to be stretchered off so that the other side got a free kick :-)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Thought the combination of magnet, bath and anti-inflam had helped my foot, as I could bend my toes this morning, but walking is still really painful. Do hope it is better by weekend, as I’m fundraising all day on Sat!!

Glad you got to see your aunt and caught up with your cousins Kath.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Look after yourself Desley. Weather here isn’t brilliant either, it’s clouded up and looks like rain. I don’t want to go home yet either. Got to leave on Thursday though whether I like it or not.

Yes I know entirely how you feel. During my entire school footballing career I refused point blank to head the ball, and played in my glasses.
I pointed out that they made me play rugby without my glasses which meant I couldn't see the ball to dodge it (or more virtuously attempt to catch it.)

We've just lost a dear family friend - my best man's sister. Someone I had known for more than 40 years. That came out of the blue - we didn't even know she was unwell.

In so far as it can, I hope it ends well

It's one of the penalties of growing old, :-(
Slowly and inexorably the people you knew and grew up with quietly disappear leaving you in a world of strangers

The strangeness of folk you've grown up with is comforting, but the strangeness of strangers can be a bit perturbing ;-)

message 2895: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments lady wife asked me if I knew somebody's name
I admitted I didn't
She then commented I'd been chatting to them
I pointed out that nobody had ever introduced me to them.
Does anybody ever introduce anybody any more?

message 2896: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yeah, would be nice if people would introduce themselves, even.

I've had two parents wander into my classroom this week, assuming I'd know which kid belongs to them.

Dave was going to fly tonight but after speaking with his brother who spoke to the doctor this morning, he's going to wait until Saturday.
Better all round. This way I can finish with this class this week and take his next week.
At least he won't need to think about school if I'm covering his class.

message 2897: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments And thank you for your kind thoughts.
