Oh dear MT, that is dreadful!

I believe it was poet Maya Angelou who said, "When people show you who they are, believe them."

Great advice

seems an entirely reasonable response!

Yeah, could be Jim - its the first time retired colleague has met that colleague, was interesting hearing his view of something I take for granted after working with someone for over 10 years.

Well done MT! I'm rebelling and doing editing as usual so met the target last night, first time I've completed before the last day I think. But am going to carry on as it will be great to have done something every day.

That's a good point MT. Good luck with your writing

Thanks. Well done for getting your walk in yesterday. I was taking the lad to school today and originally planned to walk in the grounds but it's pissing down so I came home!

Nice going! My line was 300 words adrift of their line yesterday. Whatever happens now, I've written over 40k!

The dining staff filled our request for the Friendship Table, so we had a lively conversation with another couple and two other women and a very nice meal with no effort. We still can't invite our families - the staff isn't even up to basic levels from the pandemic - a wonderful feature our first two years here that I hope will return.
Then I went for a ride in balmy weather on Maggie, my Airwheel S8, so you can picture me floating down the greenway on my bicycle seat on a hoverboard, getting smiles.
If I don't go for a ride every couple of days, my body and mind get anxious at every little bump until I get my sea legs back. The dining manager borrowed her and rode around the facility a bit while we ate - I happily offer rides to anyone who wants to try, and demos to those who ask about my steed.
Here's a 30 second Youtube video for anyone curious:

Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving meal Alicia, even if your family couldn't be there. Hope your weather doesn't get much worse R

So yeh, it took me about an hour longer to get down there, but only because I stuffed up by not taking a right turn and deciding to queue for the lights (add 10 mins for that one) Google brought me out on a junction in the middle of the closed section of the M23 - another 20 minutes for that one - and it told me to turn left then right on another, which I duly did, only to discover that 'turn left' meant 'follow this road round the corner'. It all worked out OK in the end but it was a pity because I was on target to be so early to Mum's that I'd miss popmaster at 10.30.
On the up side, I was able to listen to Close Enough, which sorted out some continuity questions I was meaning to look up about the one I'm writing. Also put me in touch with some of the character development again so I can keep it all on track, so that was handy.

Sorry to hear you had a bit of a nightmare journey MT. Thought about you and Jim today, colleague was talking about books and how creative people like JK Rowling must be to be able to create all these new words etc.

Still there, Desley. I get that exact same kind of confusion because the church van isn't taking us during the pandemic, but had locked that in for Sunday mornings before. Now I have to make a real effort.

And so much of it will be full of necessary bustle and fuss, it will go even faster.
I believe the instructions re omicron are to use all the precautions - masks, distance, washing hands, not touching face, staying away from sick people - but nothing new and extravagant. They still don't know how much the vaccines will help with this particular variant, so we're back to full precautions at our community, too.

Ouch. Husband had a partially detached retina - and it was no picnic for him to recover. Vision is so important - rest and let everything heal properly.

yes there is a lot of hurry up and wait

A good time for audiobooks?

There was one poor chap at the Ophthalmology dept when my husband was in, who was having to spend as much time as possible with his head down with face parallel to the floor (something to do with keeping pressure on the back of the eye after they had filled it with gas I think). He was allowed to go to the loo and sit up to eat but then it was straight back down again.

Staying clean and dust free must be tricky living on a farm Jim!

I find they only document things like missed payments. They probably wouldn't remember an angry customer in a branch and definitely not to a customer service advisor on the phone. Unless that customer repeatedly harassed them.
