No tier change here so life goes on it its usual Groundhog Day manner.
The last couple of days have seen a heavy ground frost here but it was lighter last night. Still flipping cold, though. All take care. x

What 2021 brings is anyone’s guess, I just hope we’ve all got the whatever’s needed to cope and thrive.
My kindle has just uploaded Animal Farm & 1984 a free edition I preordered a couple of months ago so as I’ve only seen quotes for 1984 I’m going to read it for the first time. Animal farm I read at school.. wish me luck. X

Barrow had it in spades early on and people talked about preventing us travelling, now we're the ones with least we're locked down.
Anyway happy new year everybody. I wonder how long it'll take the bureaucracy to lift the restrictions. We've still got restrictions in place that came in in 2001 with the food and mouth outbreak!

Kicking Johnson in the pants would help though, big time. Or indeed any of the uk cabinet :D
Here's to better and brighter days from now on. I'm 26 millionth in line for a vaccine wahey

That’s good one Desley.
Like you Jim we’re the lowest of the low but in the slammer with the highest.
Pass me my gun. I’m aiming at political pygmies
No mention of vaccines for pembrokeshire. The politic bureau in Cardiff hate us as we’ve got conservative MPs
Just dont try to tell me it’s not political. My aim isn’t bad at all.

I hope I live in a liberal enough place that ALL will get it.
And hope my kids will qualify soon.

That's great news Alicia, do you know how long it will take to get to you?

They said the first dose would be available before the end of the month, which depends on the county. They've asked us to sign up by Jan. 4 - then we'll find out when. I have the feeling it may be sooner; there are people who won't get the vaccine (I don't understand them), but it means there are more doses available for those who want it. Cross your fingers!

We've had a micro-sprinkle of snow overnight. I have resisted the urge to go out and play in it!

Had my first vaccine dose yesterday. We're getting appointments from vaccine centres in dribs and drabs as they have spares at the moment so decided to jump on it.
No side effects so far except a sore arm, although sleeping on it probably didn't help!
We had a bit of snow when I went to pick up the shopping this morning, but it appears to be mostly gone now. Still got my thermals on for work though!

Glad you have had your vaccination with no side effects Claire, and i do hope you don't have to wait too long Alicia

Is health devolved in Scotland like Wales. I read NHS U.K. information then find out it’s not the same in Wales.

Actually they give out information for london and the SE as if it were the whole country :-(

Brother in law has tested negative now. My sister seems immune so far. Hope it stays that way too.
Sun is shining here -it shows up the dust but till I take the decorations down I’ve got a good excuse to ignore it.

It's the last day of our holiday season as my sister goes back to work tomorrow and therefore breaks the bubble. Let's see how soon they get these vaccinations going.

I made a mistake of using brioche in a tiramisu. It wasn’t nice at all, really claggy. I’m having to eat it for breakfast to get rid of it. I’m a proper martyr

Hoping they roll out the vaccine fast. I have no clue what the rules are, either. I just look up the tier I'm in and wing it. Scotland and Wales each do their own thing, England does it county by county so there's nothing joined up as far as I can see. The BBC website usually does Wales and Scotland, I found the Scottish guidance on there rather more easily than the stuff for Sussex.
No sign of a vaccine here but someone at church has been offered the Glaxo one apparently. They're doing people like priests now, who interface with the dying.
Very cold here and very windy. I'm just off to put my towels out. They'll probably freeze solid but at least they'll be fresh.

I'm not moving from the apartment most of the time - because I don't want to compound the problem.

And goodreads is a bit borked this morning as well. I keep getting the over capacity message. Hmm ...

What with the op and the crook leg, me too since mid October. But the road in front of our house is still busy (boo).

Flip flops in January on black ice while taking selfies. I kid you not.

Blimey Lynne! Sounds as if all human life is there. We saw something similar the other day in Clare. Lovely tudor town and there's a lady in a tracksuit with three quarter length bottoms and fit flops going in there. Bare feet and just a t shirt. She must have been from the north pole somewhere because she didn't appear to be freezing. I'm woolly socks from about October through to March!

Cannot be from Newcastle or in such mild weather she'd be in short shorts and a crop top :-)

Same problem in California: the natives are freezing, I'm in sandals asking why they need a coat. I wonder how long it will take to fade after moving back here.
The greenway is popular - I've been wearing a mask when I go out on the trike; too much trouble to put it on and take it off with that many people out walking.
And we've had rain - hope it's enough.

There are always people walking around here, but I'm surprised by how many cars are still on the road, considering no-one is supposed to be going anywhere

Another friend has a husband ill but he’s in hospital with covid and low oxygen and she has tested negative like my sister.
A lot more bird flu and preventative slaughters in France this week.

Another friend ha..."
It's here too Lynne, although I'm not sure it's as bad, they're just not reporting on it.

Finger's crossed for your friends hubby Lynne. I can't imagine swimming in the sea in Jan - it's a Christmas Day tradition in Jersey, I've always been disappointed my brother hasn't done it!

On the good side, tomorrow, between 1-3, any resident (most are over 75) here from my floor will get vaccinated. Every floor has a timeslot, and they will even accommodate in the last slow those who didn't sign up, if they want the vaccine.
What a world!
