Tim | 8539 comments Had an ultrasound today, & that shows the infection goes quite deep. They had wanted to just drain it, but they say that wouldn’t be safe. So now theyRe talking about a cat scan & maybe surgery.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Oh, bum. Hope they can sort it without too much pain.

Morning, all.

Elizabeth White | 1761 comments Morning everyone.

Bidding fair here at the mo' and the flower bed is definitely looking neglected. Apart from anything else I need to support the late bloomers.

The lurking Gazebo made me laugh; hope you get your appartment soon, Patti, and then maybe you'll be able to relax and shed the tiredness.

Fingers x'd for you, Tim.

Good luck with the move, Will.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Morning all, struggled to get to sleep so found it hard to get up. Dry and sun trying to peek out

message 7409: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments "You mean I need to start packing?" K promptly hides under the bed covers and refuses to emerge...

message 7410: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Don't blame her!

Morning each. Been off reviewing - back to writing. And it's flower arranging this afternoon. All this excitement.

message 7411: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning

Kitty went off merrily to preschool this morning, she almost ran off without saying goodbye and would have if I didn’t call her back! She loved it and is excited to go back tomorrow. She was only there for an hour this morning. I need to find her another dress to wear, she only has 1 and no school jumper! Everywhere online is sold out, I didn’t think it would be this difficult to get uniform this time of year!

message 7412: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments That really sucks Tim :o( I hope you won't need surgery.

message 7413: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments hope things go well for you Tim, bit of a beggar really :-(

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Glad Kitty enjoyed herself at preschool Jud, good luck trying to find a uniform

message 7415: by Tim (new)

Cheers

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Hope it goes well, Tim - best of luck!

Morning, everyone.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Morning all, not much to report. Petrol after work.

Hope you get some good news today Tim

message 7421: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Break, whoops, I mean heal a leg, Tim.
Shopping soon, the must do some baking as we're having a village cake stall and coffee morning for Marie Curie cancer fund.

message 7422: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Morning!

All the best Tim!

message 7423: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments That sucks so much, Tim. I hope you get sorted out quickly.

I'm on an actual keyboard. I've lost the ability to type properly since using the ipad for the last several years. I hate having to remember to use the shift key.

Meet the teacher evening for another 70 minutes. I'm bored stupid.

Bunch of us are going out for Italian after work. That'll be nice.

message 7424: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth White | 1761 comments Morning everyone.

Just put in an appearance to check on Tim - and issue a (completely unrelated) warning.

Fried M&S 97% pork sausages for dinner last night (himself's choice - I prefer more rusk than meat!) and 5 mins after the start the frying pan was covered in a yucky and rising layer of milky sludge.
I ladled this out and went on frying to see if they would end up being edible - and after then producing a further extra cm of fat they turned brown and slightly crusty - but the size of chipolatas.
They tasted none too bad, but not worth the unappetising start and shrinkage.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Well it was back to summer here again today! Cracking day. I may have indulged in a small ice cream :D

message 7426: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Surgery went well, although good news is still a bit elusive - the infection went very deep, and I need a follow up surgery on Sunday

message 7427: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Hope that sorts it out.

message 7428: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Jeez Tim, cellulitis is a bastard. I hope it’s soon sorted and never comes back.

Cheers

MTM

message 7429: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Thanks Mary. I have this black carbon wound cover that is worthy of the Borg!

message 7430: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Tim, you've never been on any medication for diabetes, have you? Just I was reading about a medicine that can cause celluwhatsis.

Hot here. Washed my shoes. They should dry in minutes.

Been shopping for a few bits. Gonna have a lazy afternoon then go out for dinner later.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Morning all, woke up early but don't feel human yet. Got a home visit this morning, then going to a local food festival and some food shopping, if I can be bothered on the way home I'll get the car washed. One wash load is on the line, just waiting for the next to finish so can peg that out too.

Sorry that the surgery didn't get it all and you need more on Sun Tim, how are you feeling?

message 7432: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Patty: no, not been on any previous meds.
Desley: holding up. Just wanting it to be over, really. There’s gonna be at least one more surgery after Sun, rinse & repeat until they’re happy.

message 7433: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments At least they won't let you out until they are happy.

And good morning! Editing to do, baking to perform and a friend's birthday present to deliver. Better get on with it!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good morning just catching up as I’ve been stressed all week over something totally stupid. I daren’t say anything but I thought the pup had eaten something I’d lost. I was in a proper stew but kept schtum or I knew OH would insist on him having an X-ray. I found the damn thing in my dressing gown pocket having turned the place upside down. Phew. Finally family situation improving and I’ve booked some holidays. That’s me done, hope your leg heals quickly Tim. Diabetic blood is sticky, not like it should be. Take care.
Jud, Asda and Tesco have school uniforms on offer at the moment.
I’m going to treat myself to a well earned G&T. That fevertree tonic with elderflower is lovely with plain gin, then cook a pizza.
have a good day all

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments This is for Rosie. I thought of this poor chap when you said about Greyfriars Bobby. The patina has completely worn off but not his nose 😁

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments Good luck to everyone with ailments and hope you get better soon.

Patti, it will be so lovely when you finally get a proper place of your own to live.

Will, hope you're ok and so glad the move is happening. Are you going far from where you currently are?

Am at the hairdressers getting my highlights done. Start my new role on Monday. Moved into my new office last night (really my old office from 10 years ago!). Well, I shifted the boxes of my stuff and locked them away. I'll unpack properly on Monday morning.

Won't have to do so much travelling now. Yay!

Happy Saturday.

Glad you found it - that must have been worrisome. I worried about the chinchilla eating things like dental floss.

message 7438: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Afternoon, everyone. Today is turning into one of those irritatingly practical days about hanging picture frames.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Well, ended up quite a random day, I was concerned about the home visit because it was near a main road, but the back was sufficient for them to not bother with it, so said they could have the kittens. Then popped to the food festival, came back with flapjack and cake. Didn't have enough money left on me to get the car washed. Came home, pegged 3rd load out, had some lunch, was just about to get the deckchair out when neighbour said she fancied doing something because it was sunny, so we went back to the food festival and had an ice cream. Then went back to the supermarket to get something for tea. That was a bit much for my poor foot though, so have dumped most of the washing on the stairs to deal with later/tomorrow. Now having a sit down while neighbour cooks tea.

Sorry you will need more surgery after tomorrow Tim, do hope it sorts it out. Good luck with move and new job next week Kelly, glad it will be less travelling for you. Glad pup hadn't eaten something he shouldn't have Lynne, hope things are a bit easier now for you.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I was greatly amused today to learn that the guide who sells you your ticket at Doune Castle asks whether you wish to take a set of coconuts around with you :D (And the audio tour is narrated by Trevor Jones)
Fingers etc crossed for you Tim
There’s a rival rumour being promoted by locals that it’s bad luck to rub Boaby’s nose Lynne - we’ll see!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments There was a fabulous big round black cat outside the casino but the gamblers had it moved as they said it was bad luck. They prefer the twinkly winkle on the fat man. I preferrred the cat 😁
It was a stylus pen I’d lost, very easy for the thieving dog to pick up and swallow. We had drama a few months ago when he had lead weights from the curtains in his mouth. Last week OH answered the door to the postman and left the outer and inner door open. I opened the sitting room door and the dog shot out. I chased him and he came back but did go across the road to another dog. I got him then and brought him back thank goodness no harm done, as our road can be very busy. Husband was furious with me. Ranting on and on. He left the doors open so I didn’t feel any guilt and that made him madder than ever. That’s why I kept it to myself all week, I really didn’t need any more recriminations, in fact one more and I’d have packed my bags, it was close!

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4837 comments Guilt makes some people look around quickly for someone else to blame. It isn't an attractive trait. I think things work better when both are willing to accept responsibility - and learn to do better next time.

Sorry you're still having problems with the foot.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments That’s what made me so angry with him. I kept asking if he was OK as I thought he would be upset because of the danger of the traffic to the dog was frightening, but instead he still blamed me. Not a clever tactic. Anyway lessons learned, I hope.

message 7445: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I was dragged out to watch the Liverpool game last night. And dead exciting it was.
Thankfully the lads here aren't too fanatical and we had good craic while it was on, or I'd have been bored stupid.
It was a local beer bar. I wasn't the only woman there. There were a couple of waitresses and one local young woman came in and sat with her (husband? boyfriend?) for about half an hour.
It was so lovely when we left. There's an app here like Uber, only for tuktuks. The driver kept ringing me cuz he was having problems finding the place so I kept handing my phone to random people to speak to him. By the time the tuktuks arrived, Dave and I were escorted into it by about five young, smiley, friendly guys.

I'm really enjoying it here, in many ways.

But we really need a proper home.

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning, all.
Glad your dog's okay at least, Lynne.

message 7448: by Desley (Cat fosterer) (last edited Sep 02, 2018 12:37AM) (new)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12602 comments Well, ended up with a headache I couldn't shift yesterday, probably the fact I didn't eat till I'd been up for 5 hours, so ended up in bed for 10, so obviously woke up at 5.30! Stayed in bed till 6.30, made a cup of tea and medicated Lucy, fed them all at 7.30 and now given up trying to get back to sleep. So will probably need an early night. Looks like it might be another nice day. Bit of housework to do, and debating doing some more washing while it is nice. Hoping it will be warm enough to sit out and read this afternoon.

Glad you are enjoying the place Patti, a proper home will come up soon. I can't believe you kept your cool with OH trying to blame you for his mistake Lynne. Lovely pics Alicia

Thanks, have a follow up with the podiatrist tomorrow

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments It looks lovely Alicia, my husband’s uncle did a similar move in the US. The U.K. should be copying this.
Did you see about the ghost ship in Myanmar Patti? A huge container ship adrift for years washed up there this week.
One more week of school holidays next week and then litte lad will start school in the mornings. That will be a shock to his system as he doesn’t ‘do mornings ’ well. He’s been a real delight this holidays.
