I have finished War's Unwomanly Face by Svetlana Alexievich. Wow! 5*Do you know that feeling when you love so much a book that you want everyone to read it? Well, this is one of those. I really recommend it to everyone, also men.
I've written only an Italian review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished Jerusalem Diamond which I gave 4 stars. An American woman meets an Israeli man while vacationing in Thailand. What ensues is a wild merry go round of relationship.

Diane S ☔ wrote: "Can't read Italian but love all those stars. Glad you enjoyed this Dely. "Sadly I don't have always time to write a review also in English. Actually, sometimes I even haven't time to write one in Italian!
Just read a classic Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot mystery, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. You don't need to have met the little Belgian detective before to enjoy this clever whodunit!

Oh, I likedThe Bookshop. It is dark. Is is devastating and ever so real. It could easily happen.
Vivez la différence!
Scariest storm I've ever "lived through" in a book! Jesmyn Ward's award-winning Salvage the Bones is a novel inspired by her own experiencing Hurricane Katrina.

Yes it is. Do you tend to prefer movies? Me, I prefer the book but see them as two different kinds of art.
Chrissie wrote: "Yes it is. Do you tend to prefer movies? Me, I prefer the book but see them as two different kinds of art. .."I love going to the movies and go to a lot of them. But if it's a choice between a book and a movie, I generally prefer the book. I intend to see the movie of the Bookshop when it comes out just to see how they handle it. In this case, I might end up preferring the movie to the book :)
Chrissie wrote: "I hope the movie works better for you, Tamara."Thanks. So do I. And as the saying goes, "Hope springs eternal."
Finished Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi AdichieMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I agree. I don't know what I was expecting (a cross between a cozy mystery set in a bookshop and Mr. Penumbra?) but it was quite different and a good read.
I read The Keepers of the House by Shirley Ann Grau. It chronicles several generations of the Howland family in a rural Alabama community. The narrative begins in the early 1800s and concludes in the 1960s. It deals with the deleterious impact of racism.A very powerful novel. I gave it 5 stars.
