PattyMacDotComma Twins differ - boys pee standing up! Poco and Moco Are Twins by Jun Ichihara is a good conversation-starter for little kids.

I liked that though some of the 'realities' of Soviet life were appalling.
Have you seen the film? I think I like it more than I should because of Tom Hardy.

Pam (bluegrasspam) I finished The Air We Breathe The Air We Breathe by Andrea Barrett by Andrea Barrett. I really enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. I like the author's descriptive writing style and the way she incorporates science into her books.

Chrissie It is Easter. Happy Easter to all of you. My family is visiting so writing a review has been difficult. I finally took an hour and wrote a short review. I really enjoyed Herzog, so I just had to write one.

Leslie | 16369 comments I have finished & greatly enjoyed If on a Winter's Night a Traveler. I haven't written a review yet but will say that I didn't much care for Invisible Cities so if you are hesitant about reading Calvino, I would recommend this one even if you have previously not liked his books.

I am. I am up at 5AM, before everyone else is awake, so I can look at GR once a day! I felt guilty doing that yesterday. They will be here a whole week which is lovely.

I hope you have lovely time with your family.
I have books piling up waited to be reviewed. Between the end of the quarter at work and the cleaning then cooking at home for Passover my eyes are closing in the evening by the time I get round to my hobbies.

I really, really am!!!!!!! My son, grandson and I were just chopping and dragging away trees. The spruce grow up like weed. and my granddaughter and I were designing jewelry and she asked me to tell her of when I was little, which was fun.

You sound just as busy as me. Hobbies we can do when we are bored and alone. I hope you have a wonderful Passover.

I did thanks. As a perk for my recent hard work my boss got someone to cover for me over the weekend so I could concentrate on cooking and enjoying the holiday (not answering emails and my phone). My food came out tasty and we had a lovely time with family and good friends.
But best of all both my children were back from the army.

I read some - very amusing. It is a pity GR doesn't let you filter reviews by most liked.

Wow, that is great that your boss has appreciated your hard work; that is not something to be taken for granted. ;0)

So happy to hear that your kids were able to be home and that you had a nice celebration. Sounds lovely.

Alice Poon (alice_poon) Finished Claude & Camille: A Novel of Monet. It read like a sweetened version of Claude Monet's love life. But obviously meticulous research went into the novel, although I cannot say I related to the characters. 3.4 stars.

message 1298: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Agha-Jaffar | 1410 comments I read Omeros by Derek Walcott, a complex epic poem in seven books. It's not a retelling of Homer's works although the characters are given Homeric names and frequently merge with their Homeric counterparts. The different narrative threads weave in an out with shifts in time and location.
It's quite a challenge to figure out who, when, where, and what is happening. But what blew my mind was the poetry. Absolutely stunning.
