I really liked that one as a kid, and re-reading as an adult, I still enjoyed it! The whole trilogy was fun to read.

Good! I can't remember any more why I refused to read it as a kid. LOL I just decided this is the year to dive in.
I've finally approached the latest Literature Nobel Price Abdulrazak Gurnah with Desertion; I'm 1/3 through and I have to say I appreciate his writing a lot. And also the story is intriguing; not directly told, but "taken from aside perspectives". I think I'm going to read more by him

Didn't like it as much as it is usually; tell me what you think when you've done!

Will do. I just started it and I'm trying to keep my expectations reasonable, considering how people talk about it.

I agree with Laura, Charbel. I think we felt the same. But if you have don't have too high expectations, hopefully you will like it better!

I am reading The Twyford Code. Telling a story in journal format can be tricky but so far this is successful and I am intrigued to discover what the mystery is.
Currently reading some classics:The Fellowship of the Ring
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
I know, I'm late to the party...
And I'll give On the Road another chance.

Is this your first time going through LOTR? I've recently had the itch for a reread.
