Teri-K | 1388 comments Rereading Up Close and Dangerous by Linda Howard because we don't have snow, and I'm in the mood for some. This book has tons of it.

Also reading Guild Boss by Jayne Castle, the latest in a series that's just plain fun.

Finished Murder Goes Mumming by Charlotte MacLeod, a Christmas mystery that also has lots of snow. :)

Teri-K | 1388 comments Finished my snowy Christmas books, no I'm reading The Darling Dahlias and the Eleven O'Clock Lady by Susan Wittig Albert, which I didn't realize was set during the Depression.

Nonfiction - The Narnian: The Life and Imagination of C.S. Lewis by Alan Jacobs.

Rereading When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead, the Newbery book that's related to A Wrinkle in Time.

Started yesterday our Read Group The Dictionary of Lost Words, but only a few pages that I went to se the re-make of West Side Story by Spielberg. Not bad, uo to now: Tje Oxford Dictionary has been in my dreams since university years

I really liked that one as a kid, and re-reading as an adult, I still enjoyed it! The whole trilogy was fun to read.

Good! I can't remember any more why I refused to read it as a kid. LOL I just decided this is the year to dive in.

I've finally approached the latest Literature Nobel Price Abdulrazak Gurnah with Desertion; I'm 1/3 through and I have to say I appreciate his writing a lot. And also the story is intriguing; not directly told, but "taken from aside perspectives". I think I'm going to read more by him

Will do. I just started it and I'm trying to keep my expectations reasonable, considering how people talk about it.

I agree with Laura, Charbel. I think we felt the same. But if you have don't have too high expectations, hopefully you will like it better!

I like it, as I expected: I like her style

Telling a story in journal format can be tricky but so far this is successful and I am intrigued to discover what the mystery is.
