I have been thinking of picking up Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero -Thanks for the recommendation. :)

Are you making lots of pumpkins at the chocolate factory or do you make candy bars?

P.S. You only need to read 3 books to complete the challenge and if you fall short there's always next season.

Danell (danellbookworm) | 685 comments Greetings my friends! Sorry for my absence. We had to move and I go in for surgery on Thursday. We don’t have internet and believe it will be awhile until we do. Visiting my mother in law for a bit and accessed her internet. For some reason earlier I couldn’t get groups to show on my phone. Not sure what I did now, but happy to finally check in with my friends, whom I have dearly missed! Surgery will be exploratory and depending on what is done I am facing a two week to 3 month recovery. Just want to be in less pain and able to do my job!! I finished a book last night “Bird Box”, been working on that for a few months. Hoping to get a library card soon, need audiobooks, my commute is an hour and fifteen minutes one way. Miss you all and will check in when I can!

Hey! I read the Bird Box last year I think :-) Always glad to hear form you Danell. Good Luck with all your current happenings.

It's busy at the chocolate shop for several reasons. We only have 15 employees and we have a new owner this year who is not familiar with our operations. The month of October is always especially busy. Not only are we focused on Halloween, but stores want their Christmas & Winter Chocolates by the end of the month as well. We also have to present Valentines Day Items to store buyers starting Friday. We have an Open House Event for the Public this coming Saturday and the new owner has been re-branding since they changed the name of the business. It's just been insane! I'm trying to hang in there. www.liftchocolates.com

Christine | 798 comments Blade Runner is long but worth the time. Do I think you need to see it in the theater, no. Wait until you can watch it in the way you watch movies at home. I do have an issue with the casting.....Ryan Gosling. I do love him but not for this role. Tom Hardy would have been a better pick, someone with a bit more grit. Its hard to crossover from LaLa Land to Blade Runner.

The Snowman is not getting good reviews. That's disappointing.

I've been catching up on Fear the Walking Dead and Walking Dead comics, getting ready for tonight's season premiere and 100th ep of WD!!!! I'm not obsessed or anything, well, maybe, lol.

I will remember Blade Runner for DVD if I don't catch it in theater :-) Thank you for the recommendation.

Have you watched The Snowman?

I didn't realize the snowman was getting such bad reviews-it's disappointing- the previews looked really good.

Have fun watching the walking dead!

Thanks for the update, Jenn! :)

I haven't seen the good doctor or supernatural this season. I did watch the first season of supernatural then stopped for some reason. I know a lot of people really love that show-it's been on a long time.

My new favorite show is the good place.

Have fun at the haunted house!

I also thought the previews for The Snowman looked good. I'd still be interested in seeing the movie since many of my favorite films don't get good reviews from critics.

Did anyone read the book? The Snowman
The Snowman (Harry Hole, #7) by Jo Nesbø

Ha Ha. I don't even know if that's the right Snowman book :-) I heard the movie was based on a book and I don't think it's the following ones:
The Snowman by Raymond Briggs The Snowman by R.L. Stine Death of a Dapper Snowman (Stormy Day Mystery #1) by Angela Pepper The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena (Goosebumps, #38) by R.L. Stine Snowman by Isabelle Rowan The Fox & the Snowman by Angela Muse Beware, the Snowman (Goosebumps, #51) by R.L. Stine The Biggest Snowman Ever by Steven Kroll Horrid Henry And The Abominable Snowman by Francesca Simon That's Not My Snowman by Fiona Watt The Chocolate Snowman Murders (A Chocoholic Mystery, #8) by JoAnna Carl

Christine | 798 comments i have a few books to add to my challenge:

Charlotte's Web for a book I loved as a child.

Winter's Bone bone in the title

The Last Cowboys of San Geronimo for western.

My favorite was Charlotte's Web!

message 86: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 3524 comments Thanks for the update, Christine! :)

I should reread Charlotte's Web- I loved that book too when I was young.

I really liked Winter's Bone- I thought the movie was good too.

message 87: by Christine (new)

Christine | 798 comments I thought Winter's Bone was good but brutal. I will check out the movie.

Charlotte's Web is so sweet. It reminds us to be kind.
