First I would like to remove a book from task 15.1 -- initials in DENALI. I will remove Small Island by Andrea Levy and replace it, so that the task looks like this:

15.1 Climbing Everest
Book 1. I summited DENALI and read Stamina by Derek Anderson .
Book 2. I summited KILIMANJARO and read The Last Light Breaking: Living Among Alaska's Inupiat by Nick Jans.

No change in score.

Then:

5.2 Location. I read Runes of the North by Sigurd F. Olson, set in Canada (and briefly in Alaska).

10.9 Members Only. I read Small Island by Andrea Levy (moved from 15.1) which I also read for a real life book club meeting on Oct. 18.

15.8 NaNoWriMo. I read Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote, # 97 (p.1) from the Fiction list. 178 pp

20.2 - Rookie at the Top - Siobhan's task: It's a Love Story
Option 1: book set entirely before 1900
The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty
**I claim one Golden Oldies ticket for this book. It was first published in 1942.**

First paragraph of book, to prove the time setting: "It was the close of day when a boat touched Rodney's Landing on the Mississippi River and Clement Musgrove, an innocent planter, with a bag of gold and many presents, disembarked. He had made the voyage from New Orleans in safety, his tobacco had been sold for a fair price to the King's men. In Rodney he had a horse stabled against his return, and he meant to spend the night there at an inn, for the way home through the wilderness was beset with dangers. "

The book is set at a time when Mississippi was still a wilderness and New Orleans was under royal rule, which places it before 1802.
