message 9: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments Nice to be here :) where is everyone from?
I'm from Australia.

Side note: :does anyone know if you can get access to an overdrive account internationally? Like if there is a library that has overdrive where you don't have to be a resident... trying to broaden my book options 😝

message 10: by Tati (new)

Tati I'm from Brazil :)

message 11: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments Hi Brazil!
Hi Australia!

I'm from Austria :)
so it seems we're on 3 opposite places of the world :)
AWESOME :)

sorry, don't know about overdrive accounts.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Im from the United States!

I think overdrive is only for libraries unfortunately! I got my account through my library card.

does anyone have any BRs they are looking to plan or looking forward to? I am trying to read The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater and Before She Ignites (Fallen Isles Trilogy #1) by Jodi Meadows next month but those are the only two I was thinking of

message 13: by Tati (new)

Tati I'm BR'ing Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6) by Sarah J. Maas on the 5th.

Other than that, no BRs planned. I'm playing in other challenges, with weekly tasks, so it's hard to plan ahead for BRs

message 14: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments @Julianne: i'd like to read The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater with you :) wanted to read this for a long time :)

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

@Lisa awesome! Its been on my TBR for so long. There is a BR planned for Sept 10th for it :)

message 16: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 859 comments Hello! I'm excited to get back into the challenges -- I've been out for a while however hopefully September is easy on me.

Ah! Brazil, Australia and Austria! All countries I want to visit! I'm from NYC and Guatemala so we definitely round out the spectrum.

I'll probably go look what's up for buddy reads but I'm horrible at planning reads since I'm such a mood reader.

message 17: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments Hi Victoria :)
Guatemala? Wow, that's far away :)
You should definitely visit Austria :)

message 18: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments How's everyone going? I've finished two books (thank god for audio and the trip to work :P )
I'm focusing on a few others at the moment too. Kind of jumping between a few.

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments Good evening :) (it's 11pm here :) )
i just really post my reviews, but work takes up lots of time right now. will post it on the weekend :)
Me too, i'm also jumping between some books, not really sure what i want to continue :)

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished my first book today. Im posting my review soon. It was a holiday weekend in the United States so I was busier than I thought I would be.

message 21: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I've been in a slump :/ but still progressing through some books, hoping that once I finish the few I'm on I'll pick up something that will fire me back up Haha

Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend Julianne!

How's everyone going? Let's pump up wooo we can catch up :D

message 22: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments @Shae: Also in a bit of a reading slump. So much new books...
Solution: rereading old books i really like that helps me a lot :)

So much work to do and school started again, didn't find time to post my reviews, but i will today. :)

Have all a great day :)

message 23: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments Haha it's hard when your in a slump! I am picking up the second book in an addictive guilty pleasure series (pretty little liars), so hoping that picks me up again.

Good luck with school :) hope you have a good day too!

message 24: by Tati (new)

Tati I've got a 1,000 pages to review and post, will do it tomorrow at the latest

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

message 26: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments Awesome Tati and Julianne.

message 27: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I've finished two buddies but have been sickn, so haven't updated for them yet. But I feel like I'm back in the reading mode!

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes! I am near the end of one BR and just got my copy of the next one I am starting. We will catch up a lot!

message 29: by Victoria (last edited Sep 14, 2017 11:43AM) (new)

Victoria | 859 comments Hey! Sorry, I've been super busy but I definitely have been chugging away I'm just always lazy about posting reviews and do it in batches kinda.

Should have 4 or 5 up soon. what's everyone else reading?

message 30: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments hello :)

just finished The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass (thanks for audiobooks :) ) and Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia !
you should all really read Eliza and her monsters! it's really, really good :)

you're all doing great and even if we don't win, it's fun to read with you guys :)
hope you all have a nice day or good night :)

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Lisa! I agree. Eliza and Her Monsters is my favorite thing Ive read this year! I am about to be away from internet for a few days but ill keep track on my books and everything!

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Just posted my reviews for a few books. :)

message 33: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments Woo goo Julianne!

I will have to get to Eliza and her monsters. Maybe next month as I feel it might fit the creature challenge? Will have to check that out.

It is fun to read with you guys. We can do this. I am recovering from being sick, so hopefully get a lot more reading done now. I'm currently reading finnikin of the rock and Nevernight. They are both good.

What are you guys reading?

Yes lisa, audiobooks are soo good! They are my god send now I've got my son and don't get as much time to read!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I read Nevernight last month. The sequel to it comes out sometime this month so i really want to check that out.

I love audio books! I have a long commute to work that I usually listen to one on.

I am about to start some BRs for Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

message 35: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 1950 comments @Shae: hope you get better soon :)
hope i'm not spoiling it for you, but "Eliza and her Monsters" is not really about monsters....

@Julianne: i tried to read Night Circus many times. always started but never really got into it.
maybe i'll try again :)

Audio books are great but they're still expensive and i don't want to buy them if i don't know if i'll like the book. so i'm looking for free ones but they're rare and often not good...

message 36: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments Did you like nevernighr julianne? I am enjoying it. Have had to pause it as I'm reading Born Wicked (The Cahill Witch Chronicles, #1) by Jessica Spotswood for hunger games challenge. I'm also listening to Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1) by Kerri Maniscalco on audio. How is everyone going? What a guys reading?

@lisa no your not spoiling it, hopefully I can find another criteria for it to fit next months challenge..

I read the night circus a few months ago. I liked it, but think I would like it more if I reeead it, as I found it hard to follow.

Yeh audiobooks are expensive! I just use the library ones, scribd and audible.

message 37: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments How's everyone going towards the end of the month? We are only 100 points behind the winners :D
We can do this!
My final books for the month that I'm planning to finish are : nevernight (12 points), maybe someday (10 points) holding up the universe (10 points) Adam (4 points) the summer i turned pretty (12 points which is crazy as it's a 300 page book) (all buddies) and I might fit in another audiobook if I can.

So they should equate to 46 points, hopefully I can achieve this haha

message 38: by Tati (new)

Tati I've got a few reviews to post too, just need to get over my laziness
