Lily (booklily) Fairly certain it was middle grade fiction. There are two girls, and they look the same. They are from from different time periods (99% sure on that) and communicate/possibly visit through a mirror.

I feel like the book cover has some pink on it, as well as a mirror.

Thanks!

Stranger in the mirror by Lynn Beach doesn't seem to match plot ending? (Haven't read yet) but does have pink and mirror on cover.

I've read Charlotte Sometimes recently and the girl from the past doesn't come live (permanently) in the future.

Josie (maid_marian) | 101 comments First bit sounds like Mirror Mirror, but in the end a boy comes through from the past to live in the present...

bookel | 2087 comments Nor the sequel Mirror mirror II by Elizabeth Dewar.

When was the book read, Avon?

message 10: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 5 comments This sounds a lot like Glint by Ann Coburn, except the girls never communicate
However it is a very good book with a similar plot

Susan Jane | 8 comments It sounds to me like this could be 'Come Back Lucy' by Pamela Sykes? It was written in 1973 and sold in the U.S. as 'Mirror of Danger'. Mirror of Danger by Pamela Sykes

Avon, do you want to wait until you get a copy to confirm that this IS your book? Or are you sure enough that you want to go ahead and have this moved to Solved?

Thanks for posting this; on reading the original post Magic Elizabeth was the first book that came into mind but I found I couldn't remember the title. Now I know. :-)
