Review: I basically had no idea what was going on in this audio half of the time. I buddy read this book, and my buddy partner apparently had a hard time understanding as well, and she was reading the physical. This is definitely one I should have read the physical of. What with all of the time jumps, and the POV change at the start, it made for a very confusing complex read. The time jumps most of all made this complicated. And, as with any audio, I didn't 100% totally listen the whole way through, as there's always something around to distract me.
Initially I thought that the time jumps were cool (as in, the first one), and then I just lost track. Who she was with at the time, who all of the different characters were, how old she was, what happened until that point. Seemed too detached and jerky.
I also feel like there was a lack of description. It explained things, but I didn't feel a connection with any of the characters, and I felt like Ursula wasn't letting us into her mind. We were just told what she was doing. And the time jumps really didn't help with this.

Yes, Sorry. I will get that posted hopefully shortly.
I took a 6 hour car trip to NYC Friday to see a show and then we drove back home afterwards. (I know, crazy!) But, by "drove" I mean we got a shuttle service to chauffeur us. :-D
I spent Sat being a lazy poop.

At this point, I'm getting into the character of Harry. There was a lot going on. A duel with a vampire, the search for the shroud of Turin, curses, a damsel in distress (kind of) and, of course, lots of Harry wise-cracking. Ahh, Harry. Ever willing to do a good deed and a sucker for a damsel in distress. Even when she steals his jacket...and his car. There wasn't much of Bob or Murphy, but there was a lot of Susan. I wasn't a fan of her in previous books, but now I'm rooting for them to find a way.

Wow! That sounds crazy, but actually makes a lot of sense. Which show did you see?
And Saturdays should always be lazy in my opinion :D

Review:
This was a Zombie Soap Opera. There was no real overall story arc. Just a day in the life of Zoe during the apocalypse. Zoe isn't a good heroine. I get it. I would be freaked out too, but a month later...you need to get over it. Emilie watched her brother get torn apart and was chased and she handles herself real well.
I did like the little twist on traditional zombies. They have a bit of brains (harharhar). They are smart enough to set up traps and use other slower zombies as well as even some humans as bait. Scares the crap outta me. :-P Also Zoe's little zombie talent. It's not enough for me to want to continue the series though.

I'll be finished my sci fi book today.
And I'll be reading

And I'll start my Sci-Fi tomorrow.

This book is closely intertwined with the first book, Grim. Indeed, we see the real ending of this one, in the ending of the first book. Pretty sure this one was an after thought, and I'm very glad MKE made the choice to expand the story into a full novel.
Bad aliens abduct our h Kim Teel whilst she was looking for her missing sister Jennifer & her b-in-law Todd, on the side of a mountain. She's rescued from the abuse and torture by the Emperor Wray of the Tornians. Lots of culture shock, swords, blood, Goddess moments, and love follow.
I think it would be better to read Grim first, just because it has better world building (being the first one written) and seems longer, though Amazon says this one is 307 pges, though it doesn't feel like it.

I found this story quite charming, the first in the Waverley series. This is in essence a tale of two estranged sisters who are trying to bond over a little magic. Throw in a little romance, a touch of jealousy and eccentricity and an apple tree with a quirky nature, you get a tale that ticks all the boxes for a little escapism. Definitely an author I'll be re-visiting.

This has to be my least favourite genre, I struggled through the first book in this series and needless to say I struggled through this. I found the story very disjointed, which I suppose is the point, and difficult to make any sense of. I think this book is similar to marmite, you either like it or not. Well this is definitely not for me

That'd be good Maddison, I'll request the stamp when you do :)

Owned this book for a few years, finally got around to reading it as I'm trying to focus on my TBR! I enjoyed this one quite a lot, apart from the silly aspects of it due to it being a middle-grade, particularly the speech and the language that Briggs uses when Doc Tempest speaks XD So melodramatic, but I excused it due to middle-grade. I loved the concept of downloading powers from a website for a 1-hr trial run, being able to choose missions, and if you complete the mission you get points to choose more powers XD So awesome! And if you fail, you have to pay for them next time. (view spoiler) I was just a little bit confused how (view spoiler) Interested to see where the story will go from here. I also love the idea that there's a parallel series based on the villain side of things. Think I'll continue with these ones.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review: I loved all of the unique powers in this book, and how they’re definitely not your typical ‘mainstream’ powers. My favourite character has to be Flicker, because first of all I adore that nickname! And I love how (view spoiler) I actually also really liked Ethan, with his voice. It was an interesting extra to him, added some depth. No clue how the authors came up with these abilities.
The multiple POVs were amazing, as per usual. The friendship and teamwork included in this book made me happy, and that countdown at the end! Wow. Definitely reading #2.
It was interesting because the book I read right before this one had a bunch of kids with powers as well, but they’re both on such different levels. Definitely a jump between middle-grade and YA.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review:
After her Ex-Soon-to-be Mother-in-Law sues her for the cost of the wedding, Verity has sold every possession she has and is now faced with putting up her house which was passed to her by her beloved grandmother. As if that's not bad enough, she than accidentally scatters the ashes of Frankie the German in a rose bush, trapping his spirit on the property. A house-saving opportunity pops up...but it means working with her Ex-fiance's brother. How could this go wrong?
This was cute. I enjoyed it. Verity is a likable character. And how cool is having a pet skunk!? I could tell that Ellis was way cooler than his family, and we didn't even meet them. I can't wait to read the scandal their relationship will create.

We can still get our last stamp, if Louise posts her review and I'm about half way through my published 2015 book :D
If that doesn't happen your books will still go into the stats. Always great reading and a way to pick up new authors and books :)
