500 years of Brazilian history told thru one female line of decedents. Draws you in to each woman’s story."
That sounds fascinating; I will be checking it out.

I don't know. I heard that his second book wasn't as good as the first, so I've been reluctant to read another by him, although he might have something else as good by now.

I heard that too about his second book, so I didn't bother with it. Disappointing. I hope he finds his footing again and publishes something soon.

BEST BOOK EVEERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay so I started reading this book at 8.00pm and finished about 1/2 of this book, switched off the lights and tried to sleep. 5 minutes later I woke up again and finished the book 'cause THIS BOOKING WOULDN'T EVEN LET ME SLEEP IN PEACE. I got completely attached to this book and read it twice in the same dayy.

Here's a mix of genres for you. The only thing in common is that all these are gripping from the start. Cheers!

Not even the first chapter, but the epigraph that comes before its first (famous) sentence: "Vengeance is mine, I will repay."

I still haven't read Rebecca but that line is iconic!

Lunar Chronicles and Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Frostblood by Elle Blake
