Leigh, I'm definitely a Tessa Dare fan! LOVED the Castles series, though Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1) by Tessa Dare was still my favorite overall! Have you read the Spindle Cove series yet?

Nancy H | 1111 comments HI Stacie,
It's been a busy month so I've only gotten one book finished so far, but it was very good. It has been on my TBR stack forever, so thank you for the nudge to get it read! Real Men Last All Night Real Men Last All Night (includes Lexi Steele, #1.5; Wounded Warriors, #1) by Lori Foster

There are many more on the list you gave me that I want to get to, but won't have time to finish them before the month is out.
Thanks for the good recs!

I have been working hard to get through a number of books this month. I have already finished Moondance Beach, First Star I See Tonight, A Knight in Shining Armor - all which I think you recommended for me to read last month.

I really enjoyed A Knight in Shining Armor. What's funny about it is my mom doesn't read romance, yet she read that book when it first came out decades ago and still remembers it. I had also been complaining about the one character (Robert) to a coworker, and without even saying a name or the title, she knew exactly what I was reading. So clearly it is a book that stands the test of time. I'm glad I read it.

I have also finished Blood of Saints and Part Time Cowboy. I have two more in the works which I think will finish out this month.

Moondance Beach (Bayberry Island, #3) by Susan Donovan First Star I See Tonight (Chicago Stars, #8) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux Blood of Saints (Sabrina Vaughn #4) by Maegan Beaumont Part Time Cowboy (Copper Ridge, #1) by Maisey Yates

Hi Mary-Megan!
That is so funny about the Knight book! I was shocked when I saw when it was published, but I loved it so much I had to buy my own copy. There are some that just stand up against the passage of time and that is one of them. LOVE that both your coworker and your mom had already read it - and recognized it! (And I can guess what you complained about Robert, because I probably said the same thing!) ;)

Happy reading!

No, I haven't but I will add it to the list.

HeatherMarie (heathermariereads) | 697 comments Hey Becky-
Finished 3 more picks. The Duke's Tattoo The Duke's Tattoo (The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse , #1) by Miranda Davis - great! Kinda reminded me of "The Hangover" smashed up with a historical romance- fun!
Blue Moon Blue Moon (Nightcreature, #1) by Lori Handeland - was ok. Had a bit too much deus ex machina. Might give the second in the series a read.
Escape to the Riviera Escape to the Riviera by Jules Wake - great! New author to me- am goin to hunt down ALL her back catalog.
Still working on: River of Teeth River of Teeth (River of Teeth #1) by Sarah Gailey , Must Love Cowboys Must Love Cowboys (Cowboy Heaven, #2) by Cheryl Brooks , Reckless in Texas Reckless in Texas (Texas Rodeo #1) by Kari Lynn Dell . Hopefully will finish up before September.
Great picks lady!

Finally got a chance to finish a book. I read Welcome to Paradise (The Kincaids, #1) by Rosalind James . It was soooo good. I've never read anything by the author. Good romance, different story. Sex, faith, history. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

Thanks for the great picks!

Hi, Suzanne.

Just letting you know that I have actually been reading this month, and I've finished a few books.

Mind Sweeper - I found the world building interesting, and liked the characters.
Marine Biology - enh. I might have liked this more as a prologue to the first book in the series, but as a standalone prequel, not so much.
Now You Die - I did enjoy this, but just felt as though everything was really superficial
River Road - The world building in this was all right, but I couldn't really care about the characters.
Coach's Challenge - this one was all right for me.
Three Days to Dead - I really liked that this was a little different from all the other PNR books out there.

I'm not sure if I'm just being a read-weary hag about the books I'm reading lately, but it seems that I'm not getting as much enjoyment out of reading, even authors that I normally enjoy, as I think that I should be.

I'm currently reading Forever is Mine (enjoying) and The Glass Castle (how can this be made into a movie? there is story there, but it doesn't seem like a movie type story). I'm also planning on reading Night Life, and hope to get to a couple of others before the month is up.

Thanks so much for my picks!

Jenny, thank you for the nudges to read Irregulars and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe! I enjoyed them both very much. I just finished Aristotle and Dante, and I basically cried through the whole thing. Not that it was super sad or anything, it was just one of those books that make me leak. :P

I finished two more books The Heiress Effect and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. One book you recommended for me, Extreme Honor, was also recommended for me next month, so I'll read it then. Great picks, once again! Thanks!

The Heiress Effect (Brothers Sinister, #2) by Courtney Milan The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin

✔6. Only one large city has a ‘great view’…Congratulations if you’re a citizen of Nashville, Tennessee! Home of the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music.
TBR: The Cowboy Inherits a Bride - Cora Seton ~MC is a cowboy and if the cover is anything to go by super sexy too - 08.01 ★★★
The Cowboy Inherits a Bride (The Cowboys of Chance Creek, #0.5) by Cora Seton

Hi Kait,
Here are the ones I've gotten through so far. Started The Lion's Daughter today and hoping I finish in time.
I also have The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie, First Grave on the RightHard Rules and The Edge of Never still hanging out in my eBook library! Did not get as much time as I'd thought this month, but then life does get in the way sometimes! LOL Thank you so much for all the picks! I especially liked Promise of Fire - dang it! I'm hooked!
1. ✱Recommend a book that has a Moon, Sun, Earth or ‘something’ circular on the cover or a cover that is ‘very dark’.
TBR: A Spell of Trouble - I recently read a freebie in another series by this author. I wish I'd picked up this series! The cover is so freakin' cute!
New: A Discovery of Witches - I put off reading this for so long because so many people called it Twilight for adults. It's not. It is way longer than it needs to be and has virginal characters but it's such a great story and so much fun to read.

2. ✱Recommend an historical romance or a YA genre book.
TBR: Any Duchess Will Do - Looooovvee everything I've read by Tessa Dare <3

3. ✱Recommend a book that has the person on the cover wearing eye glasses or anything else on their head OR where MC is a ‘protector’ ie military or ‘alpha-like’ character.
TBR: Into the Fury - Ohhh! This sounds great! I'm working on this author's Raines of Wind Canyon series but might need to pick this book up soon...

4. ✱Recommend a book where the cover depicts something found in nature, a bird on the cover, or the word ‘night’ or ‘shadow’ in the title or series name. A suspense will work too!
TBR: The Lion's Daughter - GR has been recommending this to me for AGES. Hope it's good :P
New: Written in Red - My favorite. So freakin' amazing and perfect. Super slow burn romance but uggghhh.

5. ✱Recommend a book that has at least 60,000 ratings or a book that’s been made or that you think should be made in to a movie/tv for viewing.
TBR: The Edge of Never - A little predictable but a guilty pleasure read for me, super sweet story.

6. ✱Recommend a book where a MC is a musician, cowboy or super sexy OR the main setting is in the USA, personal bonus if it’s set in ‘Tennessee.'
TBR: Listen to Me - I haven't tried this series but it seems really popular and her Love Under the Big Sky series is one I enjoy.
New: First Grave on the Right - Goofy but dark at times, this series is really great! I'm not crazy about the romance aspect in the first book but Charley and Cookie are my idols ;) I think her writing is similar to Molly Harper.

7. ✱ Recommend a book with a car or road on the cover or a story that has a ‘road trip’ (any sort of journey for the character or reader) or ‘storm’ (stormy relationships or characters count!) that takes place somewhere in the story.
TBR: One Foot in the Grave - This was one of the first UF series I read. So good!!
New: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie - Jennifer Ashley is tied for my favorite HR author with Tessa Dare. This first book was my favorite. Uggghhh Ian <333

8. ✱Recommend a book that has the letters N-A-S-A (A does not need to appear twice) somewhere in the title OR in tribute to ‘life beyond’ a book genre that’s paranormal or fantasy.
TBR: Scandal Wears Satin - One of these days I'll not be a terrible HR fan and read a book by Loretta Chase!
New: A Promise of Fire - Read this if nothing else!! I really hope you love it as much as I do.
