So, I think I may have found all three words in the book I'm reading now The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood

#3 shallow: superficial = all the characters living in the house seem shallow as they all lead superficial lives
#4 sham - fraud = the characters all appear fraudulent, and are living a type of fraud
#6 shameful - exciting shame, indecent = all of the boarders have some sort of indecency among them - sexual perversion, thievery, murder!

I'll post again when I finish the book and request new words then.

#22 surety - 1) state of being sure; certain 2) one liable for the debt, default, or misdeed of another 3) sponsor

#19 cumulate - to heap together; accumulate: Flash Crash, Lingerie Wars, Nemesis in Spain or The Actuary

8/15: I'm so glad I didn't check the main genre of Lingerie Wars (Invertary, #1) by Janet Elizabeth Henderson and just started it - chick-lit's not my most favorite :-) First things first: I picked it because the blurb said: ... Luke Benson leaned his life savings to his dippy sister so that she could buy a shop. It was a big mistake ... So he steps in to make the shop profitable, sell it and get his money back. (#19) I was able to find the other two definitions in the book as well: #9: there's a big fight with fists and a knife; #8: major spoiler (view spoiler)
