Happy early birthday Heather! :D

message 5: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Thanks! My birthday is August 6th

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Thought I'd be nice to try gifs again since the chat thread from last year is where I learned how to use them. ^-^

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Heather wrote: "Thanks! My birthday is August 6th"

Less than a month away then. :)

Heather | 10157 comments Book buyer have you planned any buddy reads yet?

message 10: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments I got a question: do we post all of our reviews in the same threads?

message 11: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Heather wrote: "Book buyer have you planned any buddy reads yet?"

Not yet. I think I might take a break next month as I've been really bad at keeping my BRs for the last few months. :(

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Carolyn wrote: "I got a question: do we post all of our reviews in the same threads?"

No there will be individual review threads for each challenge.

message 13: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I'm surprised there isn't a nonreading challenge this year!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Andrea wrote: "I'm surprised there isn't a nonreading challenge this year!"

Sarah explained in one of the threads (Can't remember which one now) that she was too busy to do that one this year. :)

I'm going to miss it though. I was making note of 'weird'/'unusual' covers for it. :(

message 15: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments Do I need to make my own review threads?

message 16: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments No. There will be one review thread for everyone for each challenge. The threads just haven't been made yet. :)

message 17: by Tati (new)

Tati I was relieved by the fact that there won't be a non-reading challenge this year. I don't think I have the mental strength for it anymore LOL

message 18: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 10991 comments Hey everyone! Extremely excited to do another MMC. August is my birthday month. So I have things to do while I wait to turn 24. Haha.

message 19: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Not sure how much reading I'll actually get done, but I'm excited to plan out some books for this. :)

message 20: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments @Tati; the one last year borderline ruined my life, I was constantly on my phone looking for stuff and I think I just gave up after a while lol

message 21: by Tati (new)

Tati @Connie, I know! I was exactly the same!

During meetings I'd be looking for covers rather than paying attention to what was going on

message 23: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments This is how I feel every month now.

Look at all these books to read!

O.o There are too many books I need to read!!

Why can't I find a book to read!

message 24: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments What was the non-reading challenge?

message 25: by Tati (new)

Tati Carolyn wrote: "What was the non-reading challenge?"

Each day we'd have a different task.

It could be cover pieces, and then we'd have to find the book the cover piece belonged to. Or it could be an item on the cover (any book with a ladder on the cover, for instance). Or we'd have to find the book based on a few clues.

message 26: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments Whoa. I'm glad we are not doing that this year!

message 27: by Tati (new)

Tati Carolyn wrote: "Whoa. I'm glad we are not doing that this year!"

It was crazy! Some of them were really, really, really, hard to find

message 28: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments anyone want to pick some to read books off my shelf to do buddy reads with?

message 31: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments @Heather; there's a lot of books on your Want to Read shelf that I could easily get access too! I think I counted 12 or so! I'll make a little list and get back to you!

message 32: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments This has made me pretty excited to get back to reading, I've made a list in my journal of all my owned physical books to read and I think I could get through a lot of them next month!

message 33: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Finished my planning for the Harry Potter challenge and I'm almost done with the Reading Bee. Next I just have to wait to see if I can get a copy of all the GBR books. I own at least one of them so I'm happy about that. :)

message 34: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments Making a plan of the books to read for the challenges makes sense! I should totally do that

message 35: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I did it the other way started with the reading bee and then went to bookish blocks.

message 36: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53673 comments Mod
With the Bookish Blocks, do we read them in any order? Or do we get given an order?

message 37: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I'm pretty sure its any order

message 38: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53673 comments Mod
Okay thanks. Just have to make rows, right? And will the mods take care of all the points we have?

message 39: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Yeah you can go across, up/down or diagonal. And yeah I believe the mods will add all the points on the review thread

message 40: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53673 comments Mod
that would be super hard!!

at least I don't have to keep track of how close I am haha
