Tati On the Page Count challenge, I'm just eating popcorn and seeing the top teams read it out... One of my team mates dropped out, the other has no internet...

We seem to have had a lot of people who've either dropped out or just disappeared this year.

Oh hate when people don't stick around :/ Such a let-down.

message 155: by Tati (new)

Tati I do, too. The member that dropped out said she had forgotten about the challenge. My reaction was: GASP!! You don't forget about MMC!!

Or any month!! And if she remembered did she come back?

She remembered because Sarah PM'ed her...

Tati Maddison wrote: "Is she back now then?"

Nope, said she's traveling and dropped out

I'm disappointed by how many people have either forgotten or just don't care.

I know! But there's no way to prevent it really.

message 163: by Tati (new)

Tati Some groups ban from challenges after the third time the member signs up and doesn't show up

Carolyn | 2247 comments What team are you on?

message 165: by Tati (new)

Tati Cornetto

message 166: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments Oh. How many team mates are participating?

message 167: by Tati (new)

Tati 3 out of 5

message 168: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments That's not good.

message 169: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Sorry Tati :( I remember being on teams with you in the past, it was so much fun!
I'm on a fun team this year, so I don't really mind people missing, but I get a bit competitive anyway lol

message 170: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Half the reason I do challenges is so I'll read more than I planned lol. I'm super competitive too :D

message 171: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Considering I haven't really been in here for the past year and haven't read more than a maximum of eight book, I had to go with fun haha :D

message 172: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments On another note: I have no clue what to read next! Help please?

message 173: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments You could try out one of the GBRs.

message 174: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I don't have any of them, unfortunately :/ Two of them looks interesting though! It'll take too long to get them from the library, of they even have them (doubt it!)

message 175: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Thanks though :))

message 176: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments Wow C.P thats impressive! And ill defiantly put that book in my to read list 😊

message 177: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments I guess its fun being an adult in the sense that you can pop out and go to like the book store - more freedom yes?

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Sabaha wrote: "I guess its fun being an adult in the sense that you can pop out and go to like the book store - more freedom yes?"

Yup. You can also order online since most adults have a credit card. :)

message 179: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments :) Do you tend to buy more books or borrow them?

message 180: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Sabaha wrote: ":) Do you tend to buy more books or borrow them?"

For a few years I bought all my books. Now I'm getting back in to borrowing. It's easier now that I know that my library is online so I don't rack up huge fines because I forgot I had library books. :)

message 181: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Andrea, we don't have those here, I'd have to order online and wouldn't get them in time :/ The ebooks are too pricy, I think, or I would've just gotten those :)

message 182: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments Online library? That'd be so helpful I'm going to Search it up :)

Aw that's so disappointing! I've spent a couple afternoons sitting in Barnes and Noble just reading.

I can never just read in a bookstore. I hate crowds and also I always end up buying the book anyway. lol. :)

Plus my local bookstore doesn't really want you to read in store. They have only a few stools/chairs and they are not comfortable. -.-

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments There is more freedom as an adult, in many ways. But then there are all of the adult things you have to do. Like work. Hahaha. I like working, but it can also be really draining.

We have online accounts at our libraries now as well. It makes it really easy to find and request books, as well as keep track of them.

I agree. I love my online library. I just wish I liked e-books more. :/

lol. I've had to do that in the past. :P

message 189: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I haven't used my library for ebooks yet. I want to try it out. I'm ok with them mostly. But I do prefer physical books.

Same. The thing I love most is that they return themselves on the due date. I never have to worry about overdue fines. :)

message 191: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments That's a good thing. My next Riyria book is only ebook through the library, so I'll probably try it out soon.

message 192: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments The due date thing is definitely a huge plus for online libraries!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Irene wrote: "The due date thing is definitely a huge plus for online libraries!"

It is! The main reason I started to buy books was because I'd forget or lose library books and I'd end up racking up huge fines. It's only in the last year or so that I've gone back to library books and that's because I can now keep track online. :)

message 195: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I almost never forget about it, but it's on and off how much I'm using it :)
