Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Yeah I do the same thing! It definitely helps to make progress since some of the parts are slower but still super interesting.

Yeah I just started audiobooks this month XD I tried before but couldn't concentrate. With all of my driving lately though I decided to give one a shot, and it worked well! Decided to pick Eragon up on audio and holy moly it helped so much! I know I probably wouldn't read it otherwise XD

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments Did you guys know that there is supposed to be a 5th book?

message 107: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Nope!

Tati Shantavia wrote: "Did you guys know that there is supposed to be a 5th book?"

Oh god, no, please. The 4th one was bad enough IMO

message 109: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
XD Not pleased Tati?

message 110: by Tati (new)

Tati Nope. In fact, this is one of those series that I ask myself why did I bother to finish it

message 111: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Oh wow XD I imagine it will feel like an accomplishment when I finally get through it. The first one dragged a little for me.

message 112: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments What's the fifth book supposed to be?

message 113: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments It doesn't have a name or description on here yet so I'm not sure

message 114: by Tati (new)

Tati Andrea wrote: "What's the fifth book supposed to be?"

That's just the thing, as far as I remember, there were no major loose ends after the 4th book (it did piss me off, though)

message 115: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I haven't read the fourth yet but I'm about halfway through the third. Maybe it could be a spinoff.

message 116: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments The last I checked, the fifth book is supposed to be set in the same world but not be an immediate sequel. More like a companion novel.

message 117: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I"m doing well in the individual challenges I'm almost top 10 in the Reading Bee. I'll have to wait for scores to be updated to see where I can in the Harry Potter challenge. :)

message 118: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments This thread isn't very active this year. I wish it was since my team isn't super chatty.

message 119: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments There doesn't seem to be a lot of chatting on any of my goodreads groups right now.

Weird. People must actually be enjoying their summer outdoors. Or at least not on Goodreads. :(

message 121: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Haha. I guess so.

message 122: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Summer here in Denmark has gone missing. So cold and windy and the leaves are turning brown already :(

message 123: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Is this early for that, Irene? I don't know much about weather in Denmark.

O.o

Still pretty hot here in Canada.

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments C.P. wrote: "Is this early for that, Irene? I don't know much about weather in Denmark."

Yes, it's a month early or so :( We literally didn't a day with summer weather in all of July o.O
The weather is like that in the UK, probably a little less rain and 1-2C degrees colder, if I had to guess.

I think I would prefer that kind of summer over the one we had. It's been blazing hot and really humid. :(

message 127: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Where in Canada are you? :) North, South?
I can already feel my seasonal affective disorder creeping up :S Too soon for that. It's gonna be a looong winter!
Luckily, I'm going to Prague next month and it's supposed to be summery over there.

You probably always want the opposite of what you have 😂

message 128: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments My summer has been hot, humid, and hit. Our winter this past year was warm, like in the 70s-80s.

My group's team chat has been really chatty. And we are in the lead so far, for the mediums!

message 129: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I'm in Southern Ontario. We apparently are having typical BC weather. Is be happy to give it back to them.

I'm sorry to hear your SAD is kicking in. I have it too so I empathize. :(

I hope you like Prague! ^_^

message 130: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments My team is in last place (serious) but one of our members hasn't been able to post anything yet so hopefully when she does we'll move up. :)

message 131: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Last month I read 25 books this month I've only read 4 so far! What's wrong with me?

message 132: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Carolyn, where are you?

Bookbuyer, oh okay :)

_I'm on a fun team, we're in second place. That's about to change though because tomorrow starts the 7 in 7 readathon, so I'm gonna read seven books next week...

message 133: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments O.o that's a lot of books.

message 134: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Bookbuyer wrote: "O.o that's a lot of books."

Yeah. Especially after not having read over 8 in a month since last September!
I'm gonna try my best though!

message 135: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I think our summer has been pretty mild. Some hot days, but not too bad.

Good luck with your seven in seven!

message 136: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments You lot are doing so well! I don't know but as a teen in her summer holidays I'd have thought I'd be reading much more then I am ...

I'm on the 3rd book in the Maze Runner series what about you lot?

message 137: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Chicago's summers are always brutal. I wish it could be fall all the time!

message 138: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Sabaha, I'm reading a variety of things, haha. I see on your profile that you like horses. I have horses and ride. Do you like reading horse books?

message 139: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments I'm in South Carolina where our winters are like springs. Summer is awful. High 90s until November.

My team is first in the medium teams.

message 140: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Overall I'm doing pretty well for the challenges but I'm having a slow weekend since I'm visiting my boyfriend.

message 141: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I'm in SC as well, Carolyn. What part of the state are you from?

message 142: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments C.P. that's great 🎉👏 Yes!! I do love horses and I hope to own one to in the future 💙 How many do you have? And for the books suprisingly no 😶 I've read War horse by Micheal Morpurgo which I LOVEDD and Horses & Pony stories by Christine Pullein - Thompson which I didn't enjoy as it was a mystery book. Do you have any suggestions?

message 143: by Sabaha (new)

Sabaha (bookture) | 75 comments This year Summer was quite good in the UK but now come the winter months whoopie 😣

message 144: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I have ten horses. And I would recommend Stay the Distance by Mara Dabrishus if you like YA contemporary at all. It's set around horse racing in New York.

message 145: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments Aiken

message 146: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I don't think I've been to Aiken. I want to though, for the horse stuff in the area. I am from near the NC border. Just south of Charlotte.

message 147: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments Like up there in Rock Hill or around that area? Aiken's pretty boring. You really don't here much about that horse stuff.

message 148: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Yep. That area. I know of a few eventers who winter in Aiken and I really like them.

message 149: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Bookbuyer, how many have you read already?

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Irene wrote: "Bookbuyer, how many have you read already?"

Only 6. I'm working on a reading schedule so I can get to as many as possible. Hence the thread post.
