message 51: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I'm starting with Ash and Quill (The Great Library #3) by Rachel Caine . I would try to go through the books on my shelves but most of those are in boxes.

message 52: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Haven't planned anything, but I probably should start soon-ish

I too will be missing the non-reading challenge, especially the "find item on cover" category. Gosh, they were hard! :D On the other hand, what a relief haha. That'll make more time for actual reading.

message 53: by Tati (new)

Tati I've got some of my planning done already. But I doubt I'll get anwyhere near to finishing the books I've already planned, so I'm not stressing about the rest (yet)

message 54: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments guess I could start planning for bookish blocks!

message 55: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I've got everything planned not sure if I'll get through all the books but I'm certainly gonna try

message 56: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments I got nothing planned out. I'm just gonna wing it.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I swear I reach a whole new level of neurotic whenever teams are made. In any group. I think I've checked Goodreads every 5 minutes for the past two hours. O.O

message 58: by Tati (new)

Tati I've got 16 books planned. Really doubt I'll read them all, though.

message 59: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I have 21 planned. Hoping to get 25 read

message 60: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments I got enough for my first block board but I have no idea what free time I will have. I am starting a new job so what time and energy that will take remains to be seen. So my goal is at least 15 books.

message 61: by Tawallah (new)

Tawallah | 995 comments Quick question, not sure this is the correct spot
The Tea Planter's Wife by Dinah Jefferies would this work for book with trees on cover?

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90921 comments Mod

I don't think that would count as its more of a sillhouette rather than a person dressed in black.

message 71: by Tavia (last edited Aug 09, 2017 02:00PM) (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments Can Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1) by Christopher Paolini count for Forbidden Forest in Bookish Blocks for the task: Read a book with an animal on the cover?

message 72: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Could also count for blue cover :p

message 73: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments I was thinking of putting it there, but there's another book that I want to use for the blue cover haha

message 74: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Yeah true haha. Always the hassle for swapping around XD

message 75: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Maddison or Shantavia did you guys notice that the Eragon series book are like the hogwarts colors? 😂

message 76: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments I didn't even pay attention to that😂😂 but that's pretty cool. I'll be thinking about the Hogwarts houses now while reading them 😂 :D

message 77: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
XD How did you even think of that Andrea? :p

message 78: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments It was when I was planning for the Harry Potter blocks. I knew I was reading all four and they each work for a house haha.

message 79: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Ah haha.

message 80: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments I have a question to stir up some talking ^_^ or try to haha. But for those of you who read multiple books at once, how do you manage it?

message 81: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
I don't :p I always tell myself 'I'll be fiiiiine this time around' but then I totally fail XD I always have so many books I leave behind because I get too far behind.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Shantavia wrote: "I have a question to stir up some talking ^_^ or try to haha. But for those of you who read multiple books at once, how do you manage it?"

I usually will start two or three and then just finish the book that most holds my attention. If I then feel like reading the others I will or I will abandon then for another time. :)

message 83: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments It seems like it would be easy to forget about some books 😂 which kind of sucks

message 84: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Yeah I actually make a list of what I need to read and where I need to get up to based on others' reading.

message 85: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments That's a good idea too

message 86: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
But then I freak out when other people keep getting more and more ahead and I'm not reading XD

message 87: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments 😂😂 true true. I'm thinking about breaking the different books down and just have a set amount of how much of each book to read for a certain amount of days

message 88: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53680 comments Mod
Yeah I tried haha.

message 89: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments Didn't work out when you tried?

message 90: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments Shantavia wrote: "It seems like it would be easy to forget about some books 😂 which kind of sucks"

I make a list each month if I'm doing BR or a challenge that requires certain books. :)

I've tried that with a small amount of success. :)

Shantavia wrote: "Didn't work out when you tried?"

Nope XD I just couldn't find the time in each day to read, and then I'd add all of the pages up that I don't get read and it's crazy haha.

message 93: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments I usually try to stick with finishing one book at a time, but currently I've been listening to an audiobook while also having a physical book going. It's been going pretty well the past month and a half :)

message 94: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments Are you going to listen to the entire Eragon series on audio?

message 95: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Yes I am! It will be faster than reading the physical copies since they're so long and I listen at 1.75 speed.

message 96: by Tavia (last edited Aug 10, 2017 08:45PM) (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments That does make more sense. ^_^ so that's good

O.o

I can never manage more than children's novels on audio book. I can't seem to process the information if I have to listen instead of read. :/

message 98: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments I know what you mean. I feel that way too. I've been trying out the audio and just following along in the book. I've actually been able to concentrate and understand Eragon on audio lately so that's good, but I wouldn't listen to a lot of books on audio simply because I know I read better by actually reading the words.

It's good that you can listen to Eragon! ^-^ I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to a book that long. :/

message 100: by Tavia (new)

Tavia (shantavia) | 1386 comments I think it's actually helping me get back into it. I had put it down for a bit for various reasons. But one reason was because it wasn't getting interesting and I was getting a bit restless. But listening to the audio while doing tasks such as cooking or cleaning helps me make progress in the book whereas if I was just reading, it would maybe take me longer to finish
