Okay T minus 15 hours till .....I finished my other book last night and............I feel like I am twiddling my thumbs and that book is there just teasing me.......

Elle Casey is one of my top 3 favorite authors and she is an indie author. She posted a poll for her fans on a book she just finished writing asking if we would prefer her to go indie again and we can have the book now or go traditional through a publisher....which who knows when we will get the book......but it will be in print......I love that she totally includes her fans in her decisions.

I go through this too!! For me this tends to happen when my plate is full. Instead of clearing my mind and enjoying a book for a bit, I bring my stress over into my reading and can't get myself to relax and read. When it's exactly what I need. :/

You may just need a short break away from reading and then you'll be right back to it! :D

There should be a " could not finish" option in the ratings......because there are some books that I can't rate because I literally could not finish......but I can't rate it poorly because who knows..maybe it got better later.......but I want people to know I gave it an honest effort!!

Is it just me or is the way you rate a book alsmot always dependent on the previous book......??? I don't want to do that but I find my self thinking "well it was definitely better that the last" book I read........which doesn't necessarily make it as good as others.....then I think I should go back and rerate everything...... I think.....I think to much!!! Lol!!!

That is an excellent point! I think of course we rate books based on others we read. If I read a excellent book 5 stars then read an okay but still good book, it might get a lower rating because I'm coming off the high of a great book.

Moods affect my reading and my ratings. If I'm not in the good mood or relaxed when I'm reading I will pick out every little flaw in the book. Little plot devises that aren't always realistic will be a big deal, but if I in a great mood I won't give the little things a second thought and will just enjoy the read.

or even when you read a book and hate it, at that point anything is better than that. I'm a firm believer that mood plays a huge part of ratings

I know. I totally agree with Casey about quality books. I would rather pay more. I love to read, but that doesn't mean I will read just anything!

heck no, that's why I have so many unread book if its not good I can't finish it!!! I had never paid attention to the 99cent trend, until she mentioned it and she is so right!!! That whole thing is insane it just make it harder to find the quality book in the flood of quantity!!

Okay so I just finished and it was so good......very similar to series ,but great on its own. The thing is I just really like the way Shatter Me was written and the way Juliet's mind worked things out....
This puts me in a rating dilemma........ do I rate it 4* because it is most definitely a solid 4* book.....and if I do do I then go back and rerate Shatter Me to 4.5* .......?? Your thoughts......even if it is that I over think these things =/

I think rerating is fine. Sometimes I go back and do that. Reading another book can help you get perspective on another one.

I've diffidently gone back to a book and changed a rating. I thought about the book further or read some reviews or friend reviews and I see the book from a different perspective. That perspective has made me higher the rating.

WE ACTUALLY HAVE TO READ THE BOOKS WE ALREADY OWN!!!!!

This came to me because I just purchased two books that I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt I will not get to for awhile!!!!

It could be like:
Your first unread purchase
Your most reacent purchase
One you had second thoughts on after you bought it!!

Haha, you get the idea!!! My Library is over loaded, but I need an excuse to go back to those!!!!
