oh wow! I really need to read that one! It has been sitting on my shelf FOREVER!I have loved all her other novels, except for one, so I'm really quite surprised at myself that I haven't read it yet.

...did you like the book?It was okay. I gave it two stars. I usually love Julie Klassen's novels and have given four or five stars to the other nine I've read. This was too dragged out and bored me at times. It took me a long time to get interested in it.
I'm actually with Alegna on this one. Two stars...had trouble connecting, and the language/action was too modern in a number of spots. Which one was a miss for you, Angie?
I'm with Staci, I loved it as well. :)The Apothecary's Daughter is probably my least favorite, even though I still enjoyed it.

I actually haven't read ALL of her novels, but the ones I have read I have enjoyed. The miss for me was Lady Maybe.

The Apothecary's Daughter is the one I haven't gotten to. Lady Maybe was okay, but if it had been published for the Christian market, there were some issues I'd have downgraded it over.
The Apothecary's Daughter is my favorite Klassen book, and I haven't found one yet that I've disliked. I'm a bit behind on her new ones, though. Must catch up soon!
I guess technically I haven't read all of them either. I still haven't read her most recent release, which I want to do soon since the second book releases later this year.Andrea my guess is that you probably wouldn't care for Lady Maybe. It was published in the general market, and while I still liked it, it's definitely not my favorite of her books.
My favorite is probably still Lady of Milkweed Manor, but it's been quite a while since I've read it. I did love The Painter's Daughter though.
I've heard that about Lady Maybe before. I've got a copy of it, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I'll be going in with an open yet informed mind.
We not theoretically have our requests for
a] in audio pending through inter-library loan from some library. Cannot wait for our two books to come in.
I guess, I might as well get another book off the shelf;
even if it at times boring, reading more then one novel at a time, takes the boredeom out of it when returning to it again. thanks for all opinions. AlegnaB wrote: "Carolyn wrote: "AlegnaB...'the secret of pembrook park'

, which possibly would be my favorite if not for the sensual material. I listened to it a second time immediately after finishing it the first time.

So after looking at my list, I have realized I have read very few of her books compared to how many books she has published.
I've only read
,
,
,
,
really need to change that.....
A couple unplanned reads for me this month have been James Heriott's All Things Wise and Wonderful and The Lord God Made Them All. I love James Heriott's books for a good old fashioned clean read.
Jodi Thomas's Promise Me Texas. (Very good .. and I am not a reader of historical westerns usually !)
Listening to Truth Stained Lies by Terri Blackstock. It's on audio cd somI can only listen in the car. I saw the latest in this series on one of the award lists so I thought I should start with this one that I got at a library sale.I find myself spending extra time in the car bc I need to know what's going to happen next. Very suspenseful.
We are stil lw waiting our copies of
and several, other books in audio thorugh inter-library loan. However, we did decided we will be listening to
on our trip if we can get C.D. players in our rental cars
I am sure that I will read at least another 10 books to my kids, even a couple more for myself, but for now my list is at:
I read a bit more than typical during the month of July...definitely some good reads this month.

You're welcome. Girl, you won't regret adding it to your purchase list as it's a fantastic story! Pre-orders really help authors out too, and I think they don't get charged to your account until the book ships (but I'm not 100% sure on that last part).
