Ahh, bummer. :( I should try ordering it again. Hope you enjoy it!

Lisa (lis_ellie) Thinking of this:

Classic: don't know yet;

Fantasy/Sci-fi: I have a lot of those around here so whatever
happens to be around when I am done with the classic (either the Death Cure or a Storm Siren book probably);

Contemporary: Don't know yet, but I will just pick something from the library at whim;

Indie: A Question of Honor, I guess, because I have an e-copy;

Non-fic: The Abolition of Man, cause I just won it;

1901 - 2000: Hmm, Chasing Jupiter, if I have bought it by then;

1801 - 1900: The Valley of Fear. This is sherlock, so it is in 1800s, right?;

1701 - 1800: Have no idea, if anyone has recommendations, otherwise I'll steal you ideas;

1601 - 1700: Melanie Dickerson, maybe? I will be checking the time frame to see if it's in the 17th or 16th century.

1501 - 1600: Will see if I ever get this far.

We will see if these plans come to fruition...

Sherlockian scholars put this book somewhere in the late 1880's. So, yep you're good! :)

Personally, because of the number of details that Shakespeare changed, I consider Julius Caesar to be historical fiction.

Hmmm... I'll have to rummage around our house for a different non-fiction book to read quickly.

I would kinda have to agree with you, Arielle, though. I was hoping Sarah Grace would let me squeeze by with calling it non-fiction, though. ;)

Haha, sorry. Arielle makes a good point. :)

Do you want some recs for a non-fic?

message 159: by Karis (new)

Karis Sure, and thanks, Sarah Grace! I saw those recs. I actually have Evidence not Seen out right now for my mom to read.

I'm sure I can find a good non-fiction to read so I can finish Enemy Brothers. I've already started it. SARAH GRACE! It's so good! I was just at page six and knew that it was going to be one of my all-time favorites! *squeals*

Awesome! I would suggest It's a Jungle Out There; it's relatively short and very humorous and enjoyable.

*rolls on the floor in agony* Just stop!!! I can't take it! Me wants ittttt! ;)

message 161: by Karis (new)

Karis I'm trying to remember if I've read It's a Jungle Out There... Maybe a long time ago. I'll have to check it out, anyhow.

*grins* I don't feel too bad because I'll feel the same way when I see you beta reading books for other people :P After I finish it though, I'll have to see if maybe I could ship it to you to read or something. I want you to read it too so we can fangirl!

Emily (sweetmrsemi) | 37 comments Finally on the "year genres"! I'm going to start with The Lost Heiress...oddly enough, I've read books 2 & 3, but not book 1. I received book 2 as a gift, and preferred to read 3 after that rather than 2-1-3. But then the mystery was solved, and I didn't really want to pick up book 1 straight after that. I've seen the reviews of it, and have really been wanting to pick it up of late. Now, I can!

message 178: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 49 comments Emily...good job! I've read 1 and 2, and so far 1 is my favorite. I intend to read 3 quite soon.

I'm SO CLOSE to finishing my classic! I just have to find a spare hour or so and I think I'll be done.

I look forward to seeing what you think of your contemporary! I've been wanting to try Karen Kingsbury for a while, but I'm also afraid she'll make me cry. :p

I entered the giveaway. My classic was To Kill a Mockingbird, and my fantasy was Crossroads by Paul Willis.

And the rest I keep reading out of order! Last night I read Magic in My Shoes by Constance Savery, (fangirl squeals, Sarah Grace?), which was set in 1766, but I hadn't read my book set in 1801 to 1900 yet so that didn't count!

And I've read two WW2 books which I can't count to my 2000 to 1901 category because I still haven't read a non-fiction!

Why is it so hard for me to read my books in order? LOL

Awesome Karis! Well done! :)

*fangirl squeals* I'm so glad you liked it!!! <3

HAHA! You can go *kinda* out of order, but if you read the last two categories, you aren't going to be able to enter the first 4 giveaways, etc. So, Enemy Brothers can count for 2000-1901 if you want it to. Does that make any sense? :)

Actually, no! LOL The only two categories that I've read in order are the first two. I know that if you read the first one of each seperate two categories, it will still count, but I'm sure what you're trying to say.

I'm not sure what I'm trying to say either . . . XD

The point I'm trying to make, is that while you can read it whatever order you like, to enter the giveaways, you have to have read the correct categories. So, to enter the first one, you have to have read a classic and a fantasy, (which you did!) to enter the second, you have to have read a contemporary and an indie, etc etc.

So, I guess it really doesn't matter, as all the giveaways don't end until the end of the challenge anyway . . . So whatever! LOL!

message 188: by Karis (new)

Karis Yes, and I'm a fast reader so I should be able to re-read, in the proper order this time, the categories that I already read.

Still. I'm going to start really making myself read them in order!
