Book A: Option 1 - Poorly rated, or common unfinished book - Read The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obreht. This was on the Favorite Poorly-Rated Books list on the 1st page, # 46 as of this post. I have not read this book, nor any other books by this author, especially considering this is her debut book and as of now, her only published book!
Book B: Option 3 - Poorly rated, or common unfinished book - Read The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. This was on the 1st page of the Popular To Reread Books list. I'm not a big re-reader at all, but, my book club was doing this book, and I first read it about 15 years ago, so, this was a re-read for me.
25.11 - Sarah E's Task: Treasure Hunting
Option 1: Which Direction? Compass point - Read Shakespeare by Bill Bryson. I had chosen South (S), so, this 1 word title fits.
Option 3: X marks the spot. Book has letter 'X' somewhere in title/author's name, etc. - Read Sex with Shakespeare: Here's Much to Do with Pain, but More with Love by Jillian Keenan. Thought I'd keep with my Shakespeare theme. (Funny, this challenge, I've read a Shakespeare play, a modern novel based on a Shakespeare play, a biography of Shakespeare and a memoir about how much Shakespeare meant to the author!)
30.5 - Catherine T's Task: Inspired by Books
Option 1: Re-read from more than 10 years ago - Read The Optimist's Daughter by Eudora Welty. Yes, this is another re-read for me, also prompted by my book club. I last read this about 12 years ago for the same book club actually!
Option 3: MPG of WWII - Read The Fall of Berlin 1945 by Antony Beevor. The MPG is there now. I didn't get it verified, but, would be very surprised if it fell off. The whole book is a non-fiction account of the end of WWII! But, stranger things have happened with GR, so, just need to cross my fingers.
The Optimist's Daughter is 180 pages and The Fall of Berlin 1945 is 490 pages, so, over the 600 page minimum.
