Oh yeah. Looking forward to this one. (In my already-bought TBR stack.)

Clyde (wishamc) Humm ... This thread seems to be picking up a little steam. I'll play.

I haven't yet read any Torgersen. That one sounds interesting.
Sigh. Another onto my TBR pile. So many books, so little time.

So far it's been good, though I'm not far into it. The [present] setting is very unique; a prisoner of war camp after humanity has been defeated by aliens. I really liked his A Star-Wheeled Sky as well, that's more of a traditional mil sci-fi/space opera book if you're looking for that.

Clyde (wishamc) The Old Man by Thomas Perry

Read this one back when it was first published. The memory had faded a bit but it seemed like the new TV series of the same name starring Jeff Bridges deviated quite a bit from the book. So, I decided to do a reread and compare. I'm about 70% through this time and have to say the stories are really quite different (IMHO). The TV show took a couple of characters and a few ideas (and the two dogs) from the book and then went elsewhere.
Both are entertaining, however.
