SOLVED. Mother and girl (and sisters maybe??) are trapped in the desert in Africa YA fiction. [s]

I read this back in 2016 and all I remember about it was that the main character was a girl, teenager and her mother and possibly her sisters or something that are trapped in the desert in africa or maybe it's the sahara desert. That is all I really remember but I know the cover had like sandunes.

Not really. But thank you for the list. I know the main characters were white or something along those lines. I think the book was also set in modern time too

Althought that book seems interesting so i'm gonna give that a read
