Omg. I just need to vent. I am done adulting. Just. So. Done. Nurse mom for the win. I diagnose both of my boys with strep throat, but of course, the dr's office says I have to bring them in... I take them, of course, I'm right... strep throat. After waiting for the pharmacy to fill the prescriptions, I come home, wrestle the 8 year old alligator child who hates medicine. Seriously, it's like a cage match. As an aside, the Dr asked me... do you want zithromax or amoxicillin? uh, let's see... fight the suddenly demonic child, completely with spewing, 3 times a day for 10 days or just once a day for 5... Does anyone really choose the 10 day option?

Then I'm getting ready to leave again, because I had to go get my stitches out today and when I was leaving town, I get a phone call from my daughter's school nurse... and she says, "something is wrong with her." I blow a u-ey, in the middle of the road and fly back to the school to get to her. Bottom line, she's fine, but my heart is in my throat the entire time as I'm flying back to her school.

Is today done yet? (/endrant)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ugh Grey!! I dont know how you do it. I have one kid and I can barely deal. I cant possibly imagine having 3 sick kids. I had to laugh at the cage match thing. My son cant swallow pills....so medicine is challenge for us.

Hope your day gets better.

message 3: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Ugh, and of course, you are probably thinking your daughter also has strep after going through the doctor on the way to the next one. *hugs* Sounds like a hellish day. I hope tomorrow is WAY better.

Jen | 162 comments Agree! Mondays are a kick in the teeth!! Is it bad that I am already ready for Friday? The days of sleeping until noon and eating Fruit Loops for dinner seem like a life time ago!! lol

*puts Lucky Charms back*

message 11: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) LOL Grey. I shouldn't laugh. I feel for you, I really do. It's the way you express it that made me laugh I guess. Luckily you still have a sense of humour! My three boys are grown now, but I remember it well........ trying to wrangle everyone into the car to get to school and work on time, but someone had lost their homework, or their left shoe..... etc.... etc....... OMG THOSE were the days!!

*whispers* life gets easier eventually.......

message 12: by Jen (new)

Jen | 162 comments *shoves mouthful of fruit loops with lucky charms marshmallows (because I'm an adult and can order stuff on Amazon) * No judgement here!! :)

message 13: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I wrote a blurb today. I'm done adulting for the next 3 months. Or until 7am when I actually have to write a book. Never mind. Carry on and pass the Lucky Charms. And tequila.

message 14: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Mixing fruit loops and lucky charms? Genius! I've been on a cocoa krispies binge lately.

Robin, can we see this new blurb???

message 15: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I ate stuffed cabbage for breakfast

I love Lucky Charm marshmallows...but if I stop and think of the feeling of those marshmallows squeaking against my teeth it gives me chills and I want to run and hid in a corner!

So glad to hear that! LOL

message 19: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I ordered Oh's online because I couldn't find the cereal at the local stores, I know it has lots and lots of sugar but darn it it's so good!

message 20: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Ooooh, I'd also lurve stuffed cabbage for breakfast!

I've been eating semi-sensible cereal forever now because I'm still doing low sodium with all my swelling, but in my normal, 'real' life, if I'm going to eat breakfast, I'd rather have ANY savory food besides something typically thought of as 'breakfast food'.

Actually, for cereal, that's kind of average as far as sugar. lol Some get MUCH higher.

Go easy on me. It's been a long few days. 😵 Just kidding. You don't have to go easy on me. Give me hell. I'll just be in the corner sucking my thumb and guzzling my tequila.

message 24: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Dude where have you been??!! My book was almost 170k words! I split it. but no CH. I listen to you guys!

message 27: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Ummmm, apparently Ela and I live under the same rock. I had no clue it was a duet. I did go read the blurb and mark it on my To Read list. I'm so excited for you, Robin!!

message 28: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Haha maybe it's just because I've been panicking so much I just assumed it carried over!

message 30: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I just sawr it!!! The blurb is great, Robin!!!

message 31: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I sure am, Ela. Lisa Ackley Aiello on FB in Omaha. If you see a picture with four goofy ladies, and one adorable one on the right with her head tilted to the side....that's me. And the tilted one is me too :)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Renee wrote: "I just sawr it!!! The blurb is great, Robin!!!"

Thanks Renee! I'd totally forgotten that by splitting a book, I'd have to split the blurb too...which means scrapping the original and starting over 😭

message 33: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Oh that sucks Robin, this is something I do remember, when you were writing it for the standalone book.

I had Pepsi for breakfast.... lol!

message 35: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Robin, is this blurb much different from original?? It sounds similar to me. Regardless, I loved them both. Let me know when blurb 2 ready. 😗

message 36: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Certain components are still there, but it's pretty different. And the final part is still being worked on. Whilst drinking mango margaritas.

Diet Coke has been my breakfast all week!! LMAO

message 39: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Ela and Lisa--Yay! Now I have faces to put with your names! I made my FB account 'inactive', but it's still there for some reason with my pic under 'Renee M. Craig'. (I still have another FB account just for editing/author/book stuff that IS active, but I never use it either) I find that if I get on FB, all of a sudden 4 hours have passed, and I've accomplished nothing.

message 40: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments I have a FB account under Tessa Donoho and it's active, but I go on, look at things, then get bored ten minutes later. I rarely post. Now... if it involves quizzes... I'm all over those! Gah, those stupid things are addictive. I rarely post anything. I just went to it and it says that I still have 51 notices. 0.0 So I ran from it as fast as possible.

message 41: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I'm on FB way more than I have time for, but it's been the biggest help with potential reader reach so I'm on there a lot. I rarely ever post on my author page, but my personal is https://www.facebook.com/robinreneehill

It took quite a bit of cab last night to get my author page up...then I woke up and deleted the blurb. Then I added it back in. 😂

I used to do the same thing! But now I never take 35. Always 281! Of course I don't drive from the coast, so that makes a difference.
