Leslie - have you read the Karen Cimms books? I really enjoyed these - may get you out of your book slump?

Leslie--I was doing that the last two weeks, but it's seems to have turned around now. You should really try The Bird and the Sword!Paula--Oooh--that looks good! I'm putting it on my tbr. And it's FREE at Amazon right now! I'll put it on the Freebie thread.
Ela--I want to read that, but I haven't read the first two, so I'll wait until you're ready for something else. I'm going to continue with this Georgia Cates series!
And Nay - we really do need to read Jack & Jill. How long have we been saying that? I'm gonna finish this ARC and then would that work into your schedule?
Oh yeah! I forgot about that! Can we schedule that for next week? Like on Wednesday? Soraya's finishing up writing her next book, so she sent me some chapters to edit and I want to get them back to her by Sunday night so that I can read
when it comes out on Monday. And then I have my monthly heart biopsy on Tuesday. So on Wednesday, I'll be able to sit back and say 'whew!' and fully commit to a BR--I just don't want to get behind because I'm dividing my time.
That's perfect...I'll get this current ARC done and maybe pop out another, and then we'll do J&J. Just let me know when you are ready!!!
So....is there anyone out there who has yet to read How To Kill A Rock Star and God Shaped Hole? I want to read both, but not sure I want to do it alone. Anyone interested in one or both with me? We can plan it for later this month (I'm starting Jack & Jill next week) or even early June. Just want to see if there is anyone else on the face of the earth who hasn't read it and would be interested in a BR.
Good luck Lisa! Although, HTKARS is awesomeness in a heart shaped angsty package....I like GSH but not as much! Maybe I can do a re-read with you of HTKARS????
All this love for HTKARS makes me think I missed something. *shakes head* I seem to be the only one who didn't love it.

Yay, Leslie!!
Count me as another who didn't care for HTKARS. Well, I though it was just 'meh'. I'm thinking if I read it now, I might appreciate it more, though--back then, I was reading other rockstar books that were much less tame, so I went in expecting something similar, but what I got was something closer to YA, so I think that put me off.
Renee???? YA??? You mean because it wasn't like Olivia Cunning's Sinners on Tour??? Smut and sex galore???
I don't remember now. I just know that I marked it YA, and I remember it being much tamer than I expected...I think. I didn't expect it to be as wild as Sinners on Tour, but I did expect it to be just 'more'. But like I said, if I read it now, it'd probably be a totally different story to me because my expectations have changed. I was reading A LOT of smut back then! lol

HEY!!! There's nothing wrong with that! *giggle* In fact... I think I need to revisit, Sed, Jace and the boys...

Hmmmm. You're not really making me wanna read HTKAR. All these dnfers. I suspect I'd be the same especially if it's got a YA flavour. The sinners are the other extreme, I guess. Yeah, I didn't mind the first one but then it started to get a bit too saucy for moi. I know some of you are thinking, is there any such thing as too saucy? LOL. But those sinners, man......... I started reading one about a menage and nup. I couldn't finish it. *shakes head* I know, I'm lame. I own it.
LOL I just got another weird rec on my GR home page. The Winter King. A medieval mystery, I believe, about the 15th in a series I'VE NEVER READ and will never read. But the funniest thing is that the rec is supposed to be because I read The First Kiss, a light fluffy CR. Ummm......... GR I think your recs engine is broken.
Awww Jan. You missed my two favorite then. You missed Sed and Jess. Jess is super sassy and their story is super fun. My absolute favorite Sinner book is the fourth one, Wicked Beat. Eric and Rebekah's story just makes me all mushy and swoony. They are so imperfect that they work beautifully together.
OK Tessa. Maybe I'll check out some of the other books. Can't remember which one was the menage book, but it didn't do it for me.
It's the fifth book. I admit, I found it hot, but if ménage is not your thing, then yeah. Then don't read it. I read the third book, and it involves BDSM where she's the dominatrix, and it wasn't for me. :) I love BDSM, but only with a female submissive. Weird, huh? I still liked it, but I can honestly say the sex scenes did nothing for me.
Yeah I haven't read that one either but it doesn't really appeal. I'm not a massive bdsm fan, and a female dominatrix? Not really. Maybe I'll have look at Wicked Beat some time.
Speak for yourself Grey! I'm peanuting all these haters! Including you!!! What's next? Someone will say they DNF'ed or hated Beautiful Disaster?
