Caitlyn wrote: "Sure, I'll take Nourishment! I'll be reading
my first Carrie Turansky book! :)"Sweet! That's one of hers I haven't read yet. I've really enjoyed the books of hers I have read, particularly the Edwardian Brides series. I hope you enjoy it!
Great job, Hannah! I'm switching from
to
for mine, since I'll be finishing that one sooner (hopefully today).
Four down, one to go! We're ahead of schedule for this round, Team Dawn Treader. Way to go!Round 4 - Due 6/28

Great job, Caitlyn! I'm glad to know that's a good book. It's already on my tbr. Looks like I need to bump it up a little.Hannah, thanks for getting your review in today!
Bess, is that a plantation house on the cover? It's beautiful!
Seneca, what book are you reading for our Souvenir category? (jewelry)
Keep up the great teamwork, y'all!
Weelll... I was going to read Emma, because I'm about halfway through it and really need to finish it so I can sell it back to the bookstore (unless, of course, it takes a turn to the more enjoyable) But somehow I doubt I'll finish that one, so it'll probably be Our Hearts Were Young and Gay: An Unforgettable Comic Chronicle of Innocents Abroad in the 1920s- an old favorite and not to long. I need a laughter-inducing book right about now. :)
Emma has a necklace and brooch on the cover, and OHWYaG has a necklace. And 'gay,' of course, is used in the 1920s sense. :)
Ah, the good old days! Enjoy that laughter-inducing book. And if that doesn't work, pop in a Cary Grant movie. :)
Andrea, it is a plantation home on the cover. I borrowed the series from the library. So, a rare paperback experience. I keep losing my place because I put the book down without a bookmark. *sighLOL!
Out of the bookmark habit, eh? Should I send you a few? I have some of my own and a couple of Kim Sawyer's bookmarks left. If you'd like some, send me a message with your address.
Nicely done, Seneca! Maybe fresh eyes will allow you to enjoy Emma better later. I read that one earlier this year or late last year and really enjoyed it. But I could see how it wouldn't be on everyone's favorite list. She's a bit precocious.
It isn't that- I just got a little bored with high society after a while. I'd just finished read P&P, and they all just gave me an "eehhhh..." feeling. Their only redemption is Austen's witty writing, without which I would have tossed away the books as having no plot long before now. I'm a history person, but not a "let's spend all day talking about our neighbors" person, if you know what I mean.
Ah... Yes, I get your meaning. You might not want to read
, then. I'm only in chapter three, and I don't know what the story's goal is yet. Lots of high-society gossip so far. It is light and breezy, perhaps too much so, but it's also in omniscient POV, which is driving me crazy. I want a clear POV character per scene, please! :D
How's your book coming, Bess?Y'all, this round ends on June 28. Is everyone getting ready for our next categories?
Since we haven't heard from Bess, should I go ahead and post my review of a sleeping accommodations book? When she gets back, she can post her review and I can take mine down, if she's done. With two days left to read, I thought perhaps it would be helpful if I went ahead and made sure our categories are covered, just in case. What do you ladies think?
Thanks, Hannah! I'm still reading my accommodations book. I got a job promotion...thank you G-d. But now, I'm doing 2 jobs instead of 1 until we can hire someone else. Plus, school, kids, and my tiny crochet business took off like a shot! Who knew....
Praise God! Bess, I'm so excited for you, with all your endeavors taking off. A job promotion is amazing and a help on the finances side of things. Congratulations!
Thanks!! I don't want this to fall by the wayside...I'm having lots of fun with the group...I'm not sure how to juggle more though. :(
No problem! Keep working on your book, but don't quite finish it until the next category is called. Then you can count it for the next round. Two more days...think that would work?
Bess, I know what you mean. I've got a library book due Friday (it's ILL, so I don't know if I can get it extended or not) and a review book due on Monday. It's tough to decide which one to work on first as I'm halfway through the review book but the library one is due first. I switched to the library one today and am hoping it's a quick read since it's suspense.Hannah, what a great idea!

During this round, one person on a team can choose to read an extra book that fits this description. Doing so will earn the team one extra point.
-Read a book with an outdoor scene on the cover
Round Five ends 7/12/17, reviews for books need to be posted in their team's review thread by then.
I finished a Location one today, and then perhaps I could do the bonus one to make up for all my shirking? Although I am dreadfully busy right now.
Does anyone have
in their TBR pile? I've already read it (twice), and I know for a fact it mentions postcards. Plus it's got some on the cover.
Seneca, the round starts tomorrow, so I'm not sure your Location book will work since you finished it today. Do you have another? Don't stress on having to read two books since you're really busy.My next two books work for the Bonus: Outdoor Scene and Sleeping Accommodations. I'm cool doing one or both categories.
My next two books:
Bess may do Sleeping Accomodation....I'm flexible. Next week I should have a little time to read. :)
Oh, that's right! I forgot she was still working on that one.Does anyone have the fruit/veggie category covered? I'm not sure I have a book for that.

I'll be finishing London in the Dark in a couple of days, so I could take Location.
Caitlyn, would you like to take Nourishment with the teacup book?
Hannah, do you mind waiting to see what categories Seneca and Bess can cover since you have one for every category?
If this doesn't work for anyone, let me know. I really am flexible on this stuff. :)
