Oh no! I would never read something like that. I just mostly read really old books- classics and non fiction. (and I avoid objectionable material like the plague. I've picked up a few by accident, though- *winces*) That's why I'll have trouble with the "picture" ones, although I do have a few with buildings/food/clothing/transportation on their covers as well.

Not a problem, Seneca. I understand that accidental objectionable material. Been there a few times myself.Anytime there is a task you can't do, we can trade tasks with each other (surely someone else in our team will have access to a book that will work for whichever tasks might give one of us an issue), and there's also two swaps per round, I think, for which we may choose to read a book a player or moderator has rated 3 stars or higher.
(Melanie, correct me if I've misunderstood that swap rule, please.)
I finished my book. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...I posted in the review section also. : )
I think I'll just be doing Ezekiel, as I was finishing it up for personal worship anyway, and I'm really busy packing right now. By the way, I won't have internet for the next round- I'll be globe trotting for my sixteenth birthday. So one of you will have to take my place.
Seneca, does Ezekiel have over 100 pages? That's one of the requirements for this game. If it does not, do you have another book you can read for the location?
Yes, it does- but I realized that I could also finish up The Blythes are Quoted so I think I shall be doing that one.
Gals, we've already gotten three of our first five books read. I'm so proud of us! Keep up the great work!
Hannah wrote: "Seneca, where are you going to be globe trotting? Sounds fun! And happy birthday. :)"Switzerland and Austria this time. I'll be checking two more countries off- Lichtenstein and Switzerland. I've been to Austria before. :)
Hannah wrote: "Oh, delightful! This is the backpacking trip?"No, this is glamping for my sixteenth :)
We were supposed to go backpacking last week but ran into a snowstorm, and we will be doing the High Sierra Trail this summer.
Hannah wrote: "Wow...one book to go. We are killing this challenge! :)"Yes, we are! Great job, girls!
Awesome! I'm hoping one of the books I'm currently reading will work. Or one of the ones next in my stack.
Melanie- if there's any way you could make an exception and PM me the round early, I'd be happy to read it while I'm away. I just won't have any internet. :(
If no one has a problem with it, I could have random.org pick the round early and do that. Alternatively you could plan on reading for the sleeping arrangements, which is always the same task (read a book with some type of shelter on cover -- house, cave, tent, etc.)
Seneca, do you have a book that works for the shelter/sleeping accommodations? Will you be back in time to post your review?
I have a book But I won't be back in time. So much for that idea! I'm sorry to load y'all with an extra book. :(
It isn't a problem, Seneca. One of us will cover for you. That's the good thing about having teammates. :)
No worries, Seneca! We can totally work it out as a team! I would be happy to volunteer to read a second book for the next round! :D
Me too. I can read two books. ;)I just read
and there is the term "key chain" in it...I know Andrea and I have already finished it, but one of you other ladies might be able to read it when that category is called. :)
Great find, Hannah! I also noticed that
featured a "key chain" pretty heavily throughout, so that would be another option for that category.
Gals, since someone will need to read two books next round, do y'all want to each choose one category and then the first person done with that one may have first choice to take the extra book? I thought we could discuss and have a plan going into the round.
Girls, the second round has been called a bit early! Here it is:--1#Location
Australia
Read a book using one of the following options:
-Title starts with one of the letters in Australia (articles [a, an, the] do NOT count)
-Part of the story takes place somewhere in Australia
-Cover has a majority color of blue or white
-Author's First or Last Name initial starts with one of the letters in Australia.
--2#Transportation
-Car*
*must be found on book cover
--3#Souvenir Item
-Candle*
*can be found in book's text or on cover
--4#Nourishment

Round One ends 5/31/17, reviews for books need to be posted in their team's review thread by then.
Next Round Starts: 6/1/17
Which category do you have a book for?
#1: I have a book that works for a majority color of blue and white
that is 40% done.I think I have a book for every category, though, also. Even the grain on the cover!!
I'm reading
Can we fit that in somehow? If not, that is okay. I don't mind. :D
#5 Sleeping accommodations...castle?
Do you want to save it for later or finish it now? I'm sure we'll come across another one with a keychain.
So far, we have:Location: Australia - Hannah
Transportation: Car -
Souvenir Item: Candle -
Nourishment: Grain/Legume -
Sleeping Accommodations: Any - Bess
