Bookish Blocks Challenge (MMC) Sign up & Questions

You've already signed up for this one now though. :)

We did this challenge back in Jan, so this might help you: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

The buddy just refers to a buddy read. There's a thread to sort that out and another with all the planned buddy reads for the month.

By reading the 400+ book you only need 8 more books to complete the horizontal row and vertical column (that's what happened in the bookish blocks back in January). Rather than having to read 10 books, you only need to read 9.

Back on the main challenge rules page:
"You can combine challenges - you can read one book which will count for all three reading challenges (but you can only count it once in each individual challenge)"
Planning for it should be fun!

It means you can read a book that's not yet published. So if you had a book that wasn't released until october 2014. you could use that, becaue it's publish date is after the first of June 2014.

An ARC is an 'Advanced Reader Copy' - this is a book that has not yet been published, but the publisher will release some pre-release copies to people who will read them and review them prior to the book's release date (as a way to publicise and drum up interest in the book).
One of the main places to get ARCs at the moment is NetGalley - www.netgalley.com which is free to join, and offers ebook ARCs ☺

Yes. Reading a book that counts on here, can also count on 'clean your shelf' and 'hangman', with regards to 'clean your she;f' ou'll just need to make sure that the book is on your shef ☺

You can find a buddy on our 'wanted' thread here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
we also have a list of buddy reads happening each month so that people can join. This is June's list - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... and I will start a new one for July ASAP.

Yes.
Yes.
Don't worry, there are prizes for random winners as well for each individual challenge, and the MMC overall. Each point you earn will go into a raffle, so every point counts!

You can only use a book once per challenge, so you can only choose one block per book.
You can use it for any of these though:
Mods favorite
New author
Title starts with your initial
Looking good
Siblings
Love triangle
Group bookshelf
Dusty book (It's on a few peoples shelves in the challenge thread.)
Buddy (if you read it with those people)

I would love to buddy read! If you know how to start a thread for us then please do it because I have no idea how. I am thinking of starting it July 8th?
