This was my first novel by Sally Hepworth. This was well written but domestic thrillers might not be for me.

Written by a doctor, this book isn't a typical "diet" book.

I've been on a long Ilona Andrews reading spell. I've
had to dig deep into their bookshelves to find more books. This is the beginning of The Edge series, and it had been published around the same time as their first Kate Daniels novel.
My Review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This is the second in The Edge series, and I liked this more than it's predecessor. It's not necessary to read the debut novel before this one.

This doesn't feel like a pure urban fantasy, but more like a crime caper overlaid with some fantasy elements.

Finishing up The Edge series on a strong note.

As much as I love the Arthurian legend have never read Le Morte d'Arthur: King Arthur and the Legends of the Round Table by Thomas Malory. Years ago read The Once and Future King by T.H. White. Very long but remember enjoying his version of King Arthur.

My one effort at this one was decades ago. I kinda got lost in the so many red with gold , or was it red gold?
If no one is in a rush, I would like to buddy up for a re try.

i believe i saw a movie/tv show version of this series or maybe i read it. the name is familiar. i'll have to look b/c it may just be on my TBR. i like to do cozy's on audio so i'll do it on audio.

Jenna; I don't know about movie/TV. This series is best read in order #1 Death at Wentwater Court.

gotcha! it's just that name is so familiar but I may be confusing it w/another one. anyhoo, i listen to audiobooks while I work so I'll add it to the queue.

Anna & I did a buddy read of that a couple of years ago, and I really enjoyed it. I’ve been wanting to read something else from him ever since.

i don't know that one. who is the writer? is it a series detective or a stand-alone? i enjoy a good puzzle mystery.

If you're into those, another one I recommend even more is The Mystery of the Yellow Room by Gaston Leroux."
Thx, I’ll look for them.

I am now interested in reading other books by this author. His writing is so captivating it pulls me right into the story.

Marge; I read this a few years back and loved it. A 5+ star rating from me. One of my Goodreads author friends compared this to The Grapes of Wrath, The Odyessy & Huck Finn.

I just happened to find and read another classic stand-alone locked room mystery: THE WRONG LETTER by Walter S Masterman.
You may find it ..."
Ok thx for the update, maybe next month when I have time. Am trying to work my way thru ‘cain’s jawbone’ at moment.

This is the only installment so far in the series that's written in Maud's POV. All the others have been from Dina's perspective. This can be read as a standalone.
