I made a spreadsheet for planning purposes:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Please let me know if you can access the spreadsheet and edit it. I believe that no sign in is required.
Hi!! ^_^@TJ, are we going to just choose anything from the spreadsheet?
And by the way, I can access and edit it. I'm always using a computer. :D
Yup! I can edit it now :D I just wanted to clarify - we are allowed to read any book that falls under the categories right? And is it okay if I reread a book that I've read before but have not written a review for? Thank you!
^^ Also since I joined Goodreads only last year October, all the books Ive previously read are only dated from after that becuase I did not put a specific date for every book I read - So even if I read the book more than a year ago, it shows up on Goodreads as last october :(

Welcome Bianca!
Since we are a fun group, I think we should just pick out what we want to read and where it might fit. (Sometimes a book fits in several categories and I like to keep track in case we need to move it). We get 10 points for closing out a category, but we can always move things around later.
I also made a column for alternates if your book only fits in a category that has already been claimed by four team members. But since at the moment our group is so small (only 6 members) -- that will probably not be a problem... ;)
Ananya wrote: "^^ Also since I joined Goodreads only last year October, all the books Ive previously read are only dated from after that becuase I did not put a specific date for every book I read - So even if I read the book more than a year ago, it shows up on Goodreads as last october :( "Hi Ananya!
You can reread a book if you read it over a year ago, but you have to write a new review. You can edit the date you read the book the first time by going to the review and clicking "edit." Then you can change the year you read the book. Goodreads has been recently updated so you can add dates of books you reread and you can note how many times you've read a book and when.
By the way, it doesn't matter which column you put your book in, 1st Completion, 2nd Completion, etc. The first person to finish the book will be moved into 1st Completion, and so forth. This is just for planning purposes. (I'm not sure I'll be reading all the books I put in there -- I just want to get an overview of what books I might read. I'm still setting up buddy reads, though, so it might change). So don't hesitate to put your book in, even if the category is taken, or even if you are not sure you will read it, because there is so much room to maneuver in this game. You are not committing to a book by putting it in there, you're just planning and goal setting. You can change at any time. We are a fun group after all. :). I think I'll add a color code for "might read".
I'm hoping we'll get more team members, otherwise this spreadsheet could be totally unnecessary... :).

OHHH thank you!! I just spent the past 20 minutes adding the read dates to many of my books haha :)
Also in part 1 of this challenge there is a challenge to read a book with the author or character whose name starts with the letter A and I lucked out again with The Alchemist of Loom
the character's name is Ari.
I have been reading between 7 to 9 books a month so I put my name on 6 slots based on what I have sitting on my nightstand waiting to be read. I picked Rose's name for the pick the letter of a teammates name and I put down Red Queen.
Red Queen, A List of Cages, Hunted and Geekerella are books I am buddy reading if you need space anywhere else let me know and I can bump my name.
Let me know if my updates are ok. I think they are double checked them

SO I added a couple more books to the spreadsheet that fit. I do not have to read any for those slots if others need or want any of those. IF anyone wants to do a buddy read on any of the books I put on there please let me know I would love to buddy read them with any of you. That way we get more points too
Hey Susan, can I buddy read Geekerella with you? I also want to read ACOWAR really badly but it doesn't seem like i will be able to get the book by then :( Also, Jordan, can I buddy read 13 Reasons Why with you? :))
I also want to read the Raven Boys but my mid-year finals only end on 8th May :( so if I read it I can't be part of the buddy read. Is that fine?
I would love to read Geekerella with you Ananya. I am reading The Raven Boys on the 1st but I can read it with you on the 4th or 5th if that is ok.
Susan wrote: "I would love to read Geekerella with you Ananya. I am reading The Raven Boys on the 1st but I can read it with you on the 4th or 5th if that is ok."I can't on 4th or 5th because of my exams :( Greekerella should be fine though! :)
Jordan wrote: "Ananya, I would love to buddy read 13 reasons why with you. Would you be able to do it after the 10?"Yes! that would be prefect :)
Susan wrote: "When would you like to read Generally? I am good with any date"Im good with any date after 8th! :))
Ananya wrote: "OHHH thank you!! I just spent the past 20 minutes adding the read dates to many of my books haha :)."My pleasure!
Welcome Rose, Susan, Jordan, Ally, and Elizabeth Emily!Susan wrote: "I LOVE the spreadsheet!!!! Genius idea."
I think so too, but it wasn't mine... ;).
I used a spreadsheet in a previous challenge -- but the challenge required more organization because you had to close out one category, before going to the next. This challenge is easier to maneuver. (In this case, I copy/pasted the spreadsheet from a serious team -- Thanks, Sharon from Team Cougar!)
Susan wrote: "For the letter A category I would like to read
A List of Cages"If I can swing it, I'd like to read A List of Cages with you, Susan -- I was supposed to buddy read it this month, but we haven't gotten to it...
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
is also on my reading list, but I'm not sure if I can swing it.
TJ, I am reading The Raven Boys on the first and Geekerella after the 8th. I can do A List of Cages in between those of you want or later. I'm supposed to buddy read that with someone but she isn't sure of a date and I would rather buddy read here for the extra points
Ananya that was supposed to be Geekerella and my phone auto corrected it to Generally. It doesnt like Geekerella at all.... lol
Just checking in:) I'm not sure on what books I am reading for this month yet as I have loads on my to read shelf. I need to nip home before I can add what I'm reading as I'm staying at my boyfriends and need to bring them here so I will update you all very soon!
For the description read a book with b, a + t in the title doesn't the book title have to have all 3 letters in it?
Right- I've added a few that I've got here that I need to read. I'll add a couple more at a later date.
I'm planning to read:

Bianca wrote: "I finally started reading
^_^"Yay! I loved that book!
You could put it under:
42. Book that begins with the letter I
or with 624 pages, you could add a short book and do:
20. Roll a five or an eight – read 800 pages of your choice (can be made up from more than 1 book.)
...Help us Obianca Kenobi, you're our only hope!
Hey guys!! as i've said before, I'll start reading after I finish my mid year exams on may 8th!! :))

Susan, why don't you go ahead and set up a buddy read with the other reader and I'll join in if I can? I'm still not sure about my time this month and I overcommitted to buddy reads last month. But I'll do my best to chime in with my two cents worth... ;)
I was wondering why you put A List of Cages under "Winged things… read a book with the letters ‘B’, ‘A’, and ‘T’ in the title"...
"Una gabbia di stelle" -- Ha! brilliant!
Rose wrote: "Just wanted to ask, what's the spreadsheet colour code for?"* 10 Bonus points will be given each time one of the four parts of the challenge is completed. (Bonus points for completion of parts will be awarded to teams only, not individual players)
The color code is for strategic purposes. We can see which books are finished and which are being currently read. Ideally we'll finish out as many parts as we can as many times as we can. This color coding will be more interesting at the end of the month as we move books around to finish parts and get as many extra points as we can. It will also help when planning what to read next (and in which category to post your finished reviews). If someone is already reading a book in that category, or has finished, you can place your book in a different category, if it fits.
I also added a color for "might read" so that you all know that the category might be open. If you finish a book that needs to go in a category that someone marked as "might read," you get priority and can take that spot. I might choose the books I read during the month depending on what spots still need to be filled.
Elizabeth Emily wrote: "For the description read a book with b, a + t in the title doesn't the book title have to have all 3 letters in it?"Yes, but it can be the title in any language.
Elizabeth Emily wrote: "I'm starting fantastic beasts!"
Oh, great! Can't wait to read that!
I devoured
! It was fantastic! I'll write a review soon. I haven't read a book this good in a long time. I don't really think it's middle grade, though. The characters are supposed to be 13, but I imagined them throughout to be more like 16 or 17. Too bad it's not coming out until October... Can't wait for the sequel.
