Cool to hear. Hope they do the version with the cool afro and big collar.

Are they going to change his name to just 'Lightening' so as not to offend anybody?

Sorry Travis, he doesn't have the big afro or the big collar. His daughters Anissa and Jennifer have been cast though... which is interesting...

CW is basically becoming the superhero network at this point

I've read an article stating that this series will not cross over with the others on the CW. I'm thinking that will change if this series gets a full order but starts to founder...

That trailer is pretty cool.

I thought so too. I know his daughter Thunder from reading The Outsiders... looking forward to seeing this family dynamic along with a street level hero

Well after 4 seasons Black Lightning has been canceled But Black Lightning himself will probably show up in different shows.

Just watched the first episode.
Good cast, and while it is digging into some uncomfortable topics, it handles it well.
Suit looks good.

Not loving the actor playing Tobias Whale. He's not bad, but hasn't convinced me yet.

The use of music is clunky.
It worked really well in Luke Cage. Here, it just feels like they are doing it because they think they should, but the CW doesn't have access/rights/budget to as good music

I agree initially with you about Tobias whales but they got an actor that is comics accurate. And the music reflects the earlier days of Black Lightning in the comics

I get what they are trying to do with the music, I'm just finding it distracting.

The actor for Whale seems decent, and I'm willing to give him a chance, but I'm old school.
My vision of Tobias Whale is the massive Kingpin clone he started out as, so this guy hasn't sold me yet.
