I spent some of the first part of the book worrying that my exotic animals would do a disappearing act but the book was full of every type of exotic creature you can name.
It is also a book that showed in such an understandable way the lives lived during the second world war. The sacrifices mad by people who knew their own lives were at risk if ever found out. Children so young - embroiled in deception - knowing the risks they took
I would like to share the description of one of their animals - a Silver rabbit " Wicek (Vincent) belonged to an aristocratic family of impeccable lineage. His mother was a member of a famous line of silver rabbits" - and didn't he lived up to his lineage.
If you feel the need to know about these terrible times you can do far worse than to read this book.
I had originally picked 'Eclipse' by Stephenie Meyer for my next book, but I'm going to switch to Better Read Than Dead for Life #2 Turn 16 - read a book with a big party. 'Better Read Than Dead' is shorter and better fits the theme.
Camilla, I saw you'd chosen that title and it looked good, so I'm reading it for our third Life. I hope you like it. I've never read Kinsella before, but looking at the first few pages it was hilarious so I went for it. Even though I prefer shorter reads for topplers lol! I'm not the speedy readie some of you are.
